Chapter 396 Feeling Like A Mafia Boss

As Hera descended the stairs, Cindy and Amy stared in awe, their mouths agape and eyes sparkling with admiration. Yesterday, Hera had exuded the elegance of a high-ss sophisticate; today, she embodied the allure of a femme fatale straight out of a mafia novel. The dramatic shift in her appearance was striking, and the transformation was clearly captivating.

Amy envisioned Hera descending the stairs with a lollipop yfully perched in her mouth, her every move oozing with the essence of her daring new look. Hera had fully embraced her provocative attire, embodying a persona so different from the elegant figure of yesterday that it was almost unrecognizable. Mesmerized by the transformation, Amy found herself pping in awe, caught up in the sheer impact of Hera’s bold new style.

"Wow, Young Miss! I never realized you could rock an outfit like this! You look irresistibly fierce and sassy!" Amy eximed, her eyes wide with admiration as if she were watching a fashion show with Hera strutting down the runway.

Hera couldn’t help but giggle, fully embracing her sassy mood for the day. Just then, Hannah’s voice rang out from the kitchen, "Breakfast is ready!"

Before Amy could pull Hera towards the dining table, she insisted on taking a photo, convinced that even Hera’s fans would be astonished by her outfit. Hera, amused by the idea, handed her phone to Amy and struck a pose at the end of the stairs. Leaning casually against the railing, she crossed her legs and gave a yful smile, ready for her close-up.

"Amazing, yes, just like that!" Amy eximed, excitedly kneeling on the marble floor to snap the first shot. She then asked Hera to turn her face slightly to the side for a different angle, capturing another perfect frame. For the next five minutes, Amy busily photographed Hera in various spots around the penthouse, each shot showcasing a new aspect of her striking look.

As their photo session stretched on, Hannah eventually reminded them that breakfast was waiting. Only then did Amy remember that Hera hadn’t eaten yet. Amy quickly apologized to Hera for getting so caught up in the shoot, but Hera justughed it off. Eagerly, she joined Amy at the kitchen table, where they reviewed the photos together and decided which ones to post on Hera’s social media ount.

As Hera enjoyed her breakfast, she allowed Amy to post the best of the photos on Hera’s social media ount, leaving the caption to Amy’s creative touch:

[I am feeling sassy today and felt like a mafia boss.]

Amy posted several photos of Hera that exuded a daring, provocative vibe without revealing much skin. Hera’smanding aura came through clearly in the images. As soon as Amy hit "post," the likes began pouring in, and her smile grew wider with each refresh. Thements flowed in like a tidal wave, adding to the excitement of the moment.

She nced at Hera’s phone for a moment before handing it back, opting to check her own phone instead since she followed Hera as well. Then, two more notification ’dings’ echoed through the dining room, one after another.

Cindy and Hannah quickly pulled out their phones to check Hera’s social media update. They both hit "like" instantly and saved the photo to their own devices. Meanwhile, Hera remained blissfully unaware, savoring the breakfast that Hannah had prepared for her.

Hannah had prepared hand-pulled noodles in a rich chicken broth, simmered with mushrooms, garlic, onions, ck pepper, a hint of ginger, leeks, and a selection of nourishing herbs. This hearty dish was designed to replenish Hera’s energy, especially given herte nights spent training and studying. To finish, Hannah added an extrayer of toppings to enhance the meal.

After Hera finished her meal, Hannah served her a refreshing lemonade infused with mint and cucumber slices to cleanse her pte. As Hera leaned back, content and satisfied, she let out a small, appreciative burp, savoring the delicious meal.

Just in time, she received a message from Zhane.

[Zhane: What time are we heading out today?]

[Zhane: I’ll pick you up at your ce.]

[Hera: Actually, I’m ready to go now, but I’m still deciding whether to stop by the antique store to get a gift for my grandpa.]

[Zhane: How about I join you?]

[Zhane: I often buy gifts for my grandpa too, so I might be able to help you choose something.]

    [Hera: That sounds great!]

[Zhane: Give me 30 minutes. I’ll head over after I change.]

    [Hera: Okay! Drive safely.]

After sending the message, Zhane quickly stood up from his home office. He had been meaning to ask Hera what time they were going out today, but he was still busy searching for a great ce for their date. When he learned that Hera was heading out early, he decided to join her. By tagging along, he could make the most of their time together.

The staff at Everett Hospital were stunned to hear that Zhane Everett, the notoriously workaholic genius doctor, was taking a day off. This unexpected break sparked a flurry of spection among the staff. Some of the higher-ups even contacted the Everett manor for an exnation, but the manor was just as in the dark, having no idea that Zhane had taken a day off.

It wasn’t that the hospital was thrown into disarray by Zhane’s absence, given his role in leading major surgeries and research. Rather, the buzz stemmed from the staff’s gossipy nature and curiosity about the potential reasons behind his unexpected day off.

Zhane, on the other hand, nearly stumbled several times as he hurried to his walk-in closet to pick out his clothes. He had expected their outing with Hera to be scheduled forter, so although he had beenposed earlier, learning that Hera was nning to leave so soon sent his heartbeat racing and made him feel unusually nervous.

Moreover, with the timeframe he had mentioned for his arrival, Zhane felt the pressure to hurry. Realizing this was his first date and that he hadn’t yet chosen his outfit, he felt a rare surge of panic. In his haste, he bumped into the small chair he usually uses when putting on his shoes. As he stumbled away from the chair, he identally collided with the disy ss in the center of his walk-in closet, where he kept his collection of wristwatches and tie pins.
