Hera couldn’t decide whether tough or cry, overwhelmed by their enthusiasm, which seemed to far surpass her own. ncing back at the deck, she saw Bry leaning over the fence, waving excitedly at her. His expression was the same as when he watched her ride Diamond in the vige—full of joy and admiration.
The familiar scene brought a nostalgic smile to Hera’s face. She gently urged the horse into a slow gallop, taking her time to get a feel for its temperament. As she became more in sync with the horse, a spark of excitement surged through her, and she felt the urge to speed up and feel the wind rush past her.
"Giddyup—"
"Hera?"
"Sweetheart?" came the voices, interrupting her focus.
Before Hera could fully encourage her horse to pick up speed, she heard someone call her name. The familiar voices prompted her to turn her head instinctively. She pulled the reins to the right, guiding the horse to turn as well. The horse’s hooves slowed to a gentle trot as two other horses came to a halt just behind her.
"Zhane? Dave? You’re here too?!" Hera murmured, her surprise evident. The two were d in their riding suits and atop majestic horses, looking so strikingly handsome that it was as if they had stepped out of amercial.
Zhane’s horse was a reddish-ck Thoroughbred, its coat shimmering in the sunlight with a rich blend of colors that changed as it moved. Dave rode a reddish-brown Hanoverian, its muscr build and height adding to its imposing presence. Both horses were stunning and impressive, matching the strength and elegance of Hera’s own Oldenburg horse.
Zhane’s riding suit featured a sophisticated blend of green and brown with intricate silver embroidery, reflecting his elegant andposed demeanor. In contrast, Dave’s outfit was a bold maroon and ck with striking gold ents, making him look like a prince from a fairy tale. However, his charming appearance quickly faded as he opened his mouth and began to act shamelessly upon seeing Hera.
"Sweetheart, I missed you so much!" Dave eximed as he hurried over to Hera, overtaking Zhane’s horse as if fearing that Zhane might reach her first. Behind them, a group of men and women of various ages followed, including Sienna and the Korean Dignitary Hera had previously seen at the restaurant with Dave and Rafael.
Hera noticed Sienna scowling at her, and another woman in the group gave her a simrly hostile look. The two exchanged a nce, whispered to each other, and then regarded Hera as if they had just encountered amon enemy.
Dave and Zhane seemed oblivious to the hostile women, brushing them off as they approached Hera. Before she knew it, she was nked by them—Dave on her right and Zhane on her left. As Dave closed the distance, he reached out to touch Hera’s face, letting out a contented sigh before smirking at her.
"I missed you, baby," Dave repeated, not receiving a response the first time. Hera was at a loss for how to react, as many onlookers watched them. Dave’sck of discretion with his affectionate gesture seemed deliberate as if he was intentionally showcasing his im over her to everyone around.
Eventually, Zhane couldn’t bear it any longer and reached out to hold Hera’s hand. "How have you beentely?"
Hera couldn’t help but chuckle. "It hasn’t been that long since west saw each other."
"What can I say? Dave’s idiocy must be contagious," Zhane teased, rubbing the back of Hera’s hand with a thoughtful smile, as if he genuinely missed her and hadn’t seen her for ages like an old couple reunited.
"What the fuck, Zhane?! What are you attacking me for?" Dave eximed, clearly stung by Zhane’s public jab. He turned to Hera, trying to y the sympathy card, but his clumsy lunge nearly toppled him off his horse, causing Hera to burst intoughter. Zhane’s disdainful chuckle followed, as if to say, ’See? You just proved my point.’
