Observing her apologetic expression, Luke smiled gently at Hera and nodded. "Take your time. I’ll be right here," he reassured her. He then lightly patted Hera’s hands, which were resting on the table, before she quickly left the room.
"Hah, that was easy!" Hera murmured to herself as she stepped out of the room. In truth, she had set an rm on her phone for exactly five minutes after they entered the private room. Pretending to receive a call was her way of deceiving Luke, providing an excuse to leave the room. She couldn’t use the restroom as an excuse because the private room had its own facilities.
Hera walked a short distance to the next private room where Gerald awaited with the files she had requested him to investigate andpile. A bodyguard stationed outside the door saw Hera approaching and promptly opened it, politely gesturing for her to enter.
Upon entering, Hera noticed Gerald seated discreetly in a corner of the dining table, positioned so as to obscure his presence. This precaution suggested he was mindful of protecting his identity in case of an unexpected intrusion into the room.
Gerald had developed this habit during his work leading the intelligence department of the Avery family. Dealing with mysterious individuals and powerful figures necessitated constant caution and protection of his identity when handling sensitive information.
The room was considerably smaller than Private Room 1, featuring only arge, 12-seater round table. Near the entrance stood a wooden divider, and on a small table just in front of the wooden divider rested a white rose in an elegant ss vase, strategically ced to partially obscure Gerald’s face from view.
The room still offered a floor-to-ceiling panoramic view of the city, plemented by the restaurant’s slow rotation and a serene ambiance conducive to rxation and enjoyment. Its design featured simple elegance that was not overpowering, yet upon closer inspection, one could appreciate the expensive artwork, the luxurious woods used in the furniture, and the vases that likely held a value of millions each.
Hera didn’t hesitate and quickly moved to take her seat across from Gerald. He stood up courteously, offering her a nod before handing over the gathered files with both hands.
"Miss Hera, as you suspected, Tyler Lennon has been targeting heiresses of majorpanies, specifically focusing on those set to inherit. This allows him to consolidate significant power by exploiting these women he has entrapped," Gerald exined, his voice tinged with frustration.
He was disgusted by Tyler’s methods and cowardly tactics to rise to the top. "His family is well aware of this, and because of the power they have amassed, many of their family members have be audacious and arrogant, seeing themselves as above thew."
"Based on my investigation, the Lennons were aiming to secure the Everetts as inws to bolster their influence in the medicalmunity, leveraging Zhane Everett’s esteemed reputation as a genius doctor. They orchestrated a facade, making it appear that the Everetts were overly enthusiastic about the union and were doing their best to win over Zhane’s future wife while sending gift after gift, while in reality, the Everetts were simply sending gift as a form of respect for the favor the Lennon did for them while being cordial about the said union."
"But I also heard that Madam Everett has stoppeding to the Lennons for days now and there were no marriage talks after that. My source told be that it was the Patriarch’s order." Gerald confirmed while looking at Hera with a knowing look that he immediately concealed.
As someone working in the Avery family’s intelligence gathering department, he was well aware of his Young Miss’ involvement to the men around her and in fact, he saw those men as an alliance of power to consolidate Hera’s foothold and power over her Consortium that would greatly helped her if those men would assist her and what better way to secure these help than to marry then like how the kings of ancient time consolidate their power by marrying many woman from different powerful houses.
