Chapter 248 First Day of School

She hadn’t realized there could be such a disgusting man in the world. Though she only summarized the information for Hera, what she heard from Gerald had been more detailed and vivid, leaving her skin still crawling with fear and disgust.

Hera frowned. If Tyler was targeting heiresses from families with only female sessors, why Athena? She had a brother. Was it because she had the support of two powerful families, and the benefits she could offer were substantial enough for him to overlook her brother’s existence?

"Alright, keep up the good work," Hera said calmly andposedly, though inwardly she felt a turmoil of emotions.

Thanks to her preparedness and Cindy’s timely reminder, Hera arrived at her campus without any issues and managed to evade the paparazzi’s attention. However, due to the ongoing trending topic, news about her had spread among the university students, making her more widely known. This newfound attention had made her increasingly popr in various ways, but public opinion of her remained divided among both citizens and the university students on campus.

As Hera stepped out of her car, she noticed students whispering and talking animatedly around her. Pretending not to be affected would be a lie, but she understood that entering the entertainment world meant facing such attention and the possibility of scandals.

Her rapid rise in poprity among the citizens made her a perceived threat, and jealousy brewed among those who learned about the caliber of suitors she attracted. Her priority now was safeguarding her image to ensure it wouldn’t hinder her as she prepared to step out and be introduced to the masses as the rightful heiress of the Avery Consortium.

Hera didn’t linger in the parking area and headed straight to therge event center in the heart of the university. Typically used by the theater arts department for their monthly performances, the venue was repurposed for events like the freshman weing ceremony or guest speakers, relegating the theater arts students to a smaller theater during such times.

Although it was the first day of school, the only events aside from the weing ceremony were club recruitment activities. Hera was there primarily to mark her attendance, gather any instructions from professors, and see if there was anything she needed to prepare before sses began. Additionally, she wanted to get to know her new and old ssmates.

"Excuse me, miss! Could you tell me where the event center is?" someone asked, tapping Hera on the shoulder.

"Are you a freshman?" Hera inquired with an amiable smile. The freshman smiled back, but he was so tall that Hera had to look up to meet his eyes, which were hidden behind thick sses and bangs. His ck hair was unkempt like a bird’s nest, and he wore ck jeans and a ck hooded jacket while clutching his backpack.

He had the typical look of a nerd, but his voice was cool and clear.

"You can follow me; I’m headed that way too," Hera said, gesturing for the tall freshman to follow her. To her surprise, other freshmen who had been watching nearby also began to follow her like ducklings trailing their mother. It was understandable—the campus was sorge that it would take a whole day to walk around every department, and it was difficult for freshmen to navigate without guidance.

They had all been meaning to ask for directions, but everyone they encountered was too busy to stop and help. Fortunately, one brave soul among them gathered the courage to ask—and even approached the most beautiful girl he saw, which they found quite bold. If they didn’t know better, they might have thought the nerdy student was trying to hit on their senior. Luckily, Hera didn’t take offense. Instead, she happily guided them to the event center like a tour guide, pointing out various ces and exining which departments they belonged to along the way.
