Chapter 187 Dream?

"Mr. Minister, are you still drunk? This is my room!" Hera said through gritted teeth, struggling to rein in her bubbling anger.

"Hmph! Weren’t you the one who conspired to get me so drunk?" Dave sneered, disgust evident in his eyes. "Don’t even pretend it was just a yful prank! I know what you’re ying at!" He used, his gaze never wavering from Hera’s.

"Oh yeah? If you knew, howe you still fell for it?" Hera fired back, her tone equally sarcastic. She was not only startled and frightened by his sudden appearance in her bedroom but also outraged by his usation. How could she continue to let him speak to her this way in her own home, her own safe space?

Hera wasn’t without a temper, and she wasn’t usually grumpy upon waking up, but Dave’s relentless prodding was getting under her skin. "If you keep letting your guard down, you might get drugged sooner orter. Hmp!" Hera snapped, crossing her arms and pointedly ignoring him.

"Oh, now you’re even threatening to drug me?" Dave’s tone dripped with anger and malice.

"Huh?! If I wanted to sleep with someone, do I still need to drug them?" Hera retorted confidently, raising her eyebrows and looking at Dave as if he were some mentally challenged person who couldn’t see the obvious.

Dave choked on his own saliva, realizing how ridiculous his usations sounded. If Hera really wanted to sleep with someone, a mere flick of her finger or a hint of seduction would be enough to sway any man. Not to mention, his four friends had already shown varying degrees of interest in her. If she were after status and wealth, she could easily choose from them instead of targeting him specifically.

Feeling like a clown for everything he said, Dave rubbed the tip of his nose. Having just woken up beside Hera, he didn’t remember much after falling asleep in the guest room and still believed he was there. He only also realized that his friends had left without him, leaving him to sulk in deep thought.

He massaged the bridge of his nose and traced his eyebrows to his temple before letting out a loud sigh. His thoughts were scattered, and he had instinctively spewed venom the moment he woke up, thinking Hera was trying to crawl into his bed. As he looked around the room, he realized, even through the haze of his spinning vision before he lost consciousness, this was not the guest room he had been sent to.

A flicker of realization hit him, and he felt too embarrassed to look at Hera. By this time, Hera had already turned on the bedsidemp and noticed the tint of red in his ears as he looked down at his hands, deep in thought.

But Hera didn’t give him time to reflect and started rubbing salt in his wounds. "What, have you realized it was you who crawled into my bed to seduce me?" she taunted.

Dave was naturally suspicious, a trait honed by his career as a politician. Hera knew that defending herself too vigorously would only reinforce his belief that she had tried to seduce him. Instead, she employed reverse psychology, matching his sarcasm with her own. This must have been the first time someone responded to him with such biting remarks, pletely throwing him off bnce. Now, he wasn’t just in disbelief; he was utterly taken aback by her unexpected retort.

He found himself at a loss for where to begin his apologies. He had simplye along with his friends to enjoy themselves, unaware of the unexpected turn events would take. Now, caught in an embarrassing situation, he feared the consequences if his friends were to discover he had ended up in Hera’s bed uninvited. The mere thought sent a shiver down his spine.
