Hera nodded confidently. "Indeed, we’ve umted a sufficient number of points. We haven’t exhausted our reserves, and we’ll also receive additional points for today’sbor. Furthermore, we managed to secure two pheasants during lunch, along with eight pheasant eggs," Hera dered without a trace of embarrassment. In fact, a hint of pride resonated in her voice. This served not only to reassure Aunt Sabby of their well-being but also to convey Hera’s confidence in her team’s reliability.
Hearing all this from Hera, Aunt Sabby’s tensed shoulder started to rx and was now beaming from ear to ear. "You really are an amazing girl." She repeatedly tapped Hera’s arm affectionately like her real mother.
Hera embraced Aunt Sabby’spliment with confidence, puffing out her chest proudly. "Absolutely, Aunt Sabby. I aim to earn your recognition," she affirmed, shing a warm smile. Aunt Sabby’sughter echoed as they strolled along the dimming vige road, now empty as vigers had retreated to their homes to cook dinner. "I’m grateful for your assurance, Hera," Aunt Sabby remarked warmly. Hera giggled in response. "No need to worry, Aunt Sabby. We won’t go hungry tonight or tomorrow. I’ll make sure of it," she reassured with a yful grin.
"Alright, with your reassuring words and having reliable Xavier by your side, I’ll reluctantly concede," Aunt Sabby dered. She gently parted Hera’s arms once again before releasing her grip and heading home.
"Wait, what about me? Am I not reliable enough?" Zen protested, pointing to himself. But Aunt Sabby was already on her way, perhaps eager to share the gossip she’d just heard from Hera with the other vige women.
This was precisely why Hera took the time to exin the rules and intricacies of the show to Aunt Sabby. Aware of Aunt Sabby’s penchant for gossiping among the other vige women, Hera knew that whatever Aunt Sabby knew would quickly spread throughout the vige.
"I may be petty, but I revel in it," she mused to herself with a smirk, striding confidently towards the cabin. Herughter echoed softly, reminiscent of a cunning fox ensnaring its prey in its own trap. If they didn’t want Hera and her team visiting the vigers for meals, then so be it. But that also meant denying the other participants the chance to enjoy such hospitality, leveling the ying field. "Hurhur," she chuckled, satisfied with the turn of events.
A glint of fondness flickered in Xavier’s eyes as he grasped Hera’s intention. Silently, he trailed behind her, understanding her n. Meanwhile, Zen struggled to shake off the sting of not being recognized as reliable, a blow to his pride and masculine ego. Despite this, he remained silent as they walked along the road.
After a brief journey, they reached the cabin, where the other participants appeared somber as they busied themselves in the kitchen, preparing their meals. A few were already seated at the dining table, eating in silence. Hera and her team didn’t linger on the scene, merely casting a brief nce around before heading upstairs to their room. Xavier held the cooler containing the pheasant, drawing everyone’s attention as they passed.
"You really didn’t eat out in other people’s houses, but you had a takeout instead," Minerva sarcastically sneered, her hunger intensifying her irritation. None of the food in front of her seemed appetizing, and her patience was wearing thin. She resembled a ticking time bomb, ready to explode at any moment due to her growing frustration from hunger.
This was an entirely new experience for her. She had taken a bold step by participating in the Variety Show, all in an effort to publicly promote her rtionship with Alexi and elevate it to an onscreen couple status. Her primary goal was to ensure that Alexi never entertained the thought of escaping from her.
She had assumed that her familial connection—her brother being the CEO of SOE—would grant her special treatment on the show. However, reality was far from her expectations. She now realized the folly of her assumptions and was beginning to regret her decision to join the Variety Show. Perhaps she should have opted for drama filming or a different variety show that specifically promoted couples instead.
She grew increasingly impatient witnessing Hera’s sess on her own. Fearing that if she didn’t intervene, Alexi might be drawn back to his ex, she felt her grip on him slipping away. This drove her to join the Variety Show, fully aware that Alexi was among the invited participants. Desperate measures were taken, including resorting to threats against one of the original participants, just to secure her spot in the show.
Her bold move left her hungry and feeling enved in the show, with no gains to show for it. Despite her efforts, she hadn’t even had the chance to seduce Alexi. Instead, she found his gaze constantly drawn to Hera, which only fueled her frustration and resentment.
