Chapter 85 Horseback Riding

    "Huh?!"

    "..."

The brothers exchanged wide-eyed nces, then turned back to Hera, silently questioning her if it was true.

"Maybe we can try to see if Diamond will allow me to ride it," Hera suggested. She observed that the horse hadn’t made much noise since earlier, and it was calmly chewing the food she had given, not showing any signs of aggression.

Hera could feel that the horse would not hurt her, that’s why she could suggest that. To be precise, she’s had a great affinity with nature and animals since she was young and that’s the primary reason why she enjoys going on a trip with her grandfather in the wild.

"But sister, it’s dangerous!!! What’s if Diamond throws you to the ground?! You’ll get hurt..." Bry’s voice trembled, his eyes welling up with tears as if recalling a painful memory he wished to forget.

Hera sensed Bry’s apprehension, recognizing that his fear wasn’t for the horse but for her safety. His eyes betrayed a deep-seated anxiety, hinting at a troubling memory. Hera lowered her gaze slightly and offered Bry a gentle smile, seeking tofort him. "Don’t worry, Bry. Diamond won’t hurt me."

Instead of finding sce in her words, Bry burst into tears. "My uncle said the same thing once, but... Huhuhu... He... He..."

Even Bry’s brother seemed distressed, his eyes reddening as he nced at his younger sibling. He could only try tofort him, coaxing him to stop crying. "I apologize for my brother’s outburst, miss... Our uncle, our father’s younger brother, was actually thrown off by Diamond in an equestrian race justst year, and now he’s paralyzed from the waist down."

"Bry admired our uncle greatly and aspired to train and breed horses like him for equestrian races. However, the ident left an emotional scar on my brother. Despite this, he can’t abandon his love for horseback riding..." Complex emotions swirled in his eyes as he recalled the details.

[AuntieNextDoor: I feel sad for Bry and his uncle... (T_T) Huhuhu]

[PasserbyGod: Indeed, it must be traumatic for the child...]

[JustPassingBy: I just came here to watch but I did not know that there is also drama here. ヽ(′Д` ;)? I hate crying but now I am crying!!! Huhuhuh!!!]

Hera empathized with both Bry and his uncle, understanding the trauma the ident had caused. She sensed Bry’s fear of approaching Diamond, even if he didn’t openly admit it. Diamond seemed to sense this fear as well.

Hera was not sure of theplete details of what happened and why Diamond went berserk and led to that ident, but Diamond must not have had the chance to run around much anymore after what happened to their uncle. If the only two adults whom Diamond trusted weren’t able to take him on a ride, it would lead to depression.

Hera’s heart weighed heavy withpassion for the distressing circumstances. Once Bry began to regain hisposure, wiping away his tears, Hera approached Diamond. As she gently stroked the horse’s head, Diamond instinctively lowered its own, making it easier for Hera to reach. It even nudged her a few times. Which instantly stopped Bry’s tears.

"Would you like to go for a run?" Hera whispered to the horse, though she knew Diamond wouldn’tprehend her words, she feltpelled to speak to it. As the words left her lips, Diamond’s ears perked up, and it snorted softly, nodding its head as if in agreement.

"Where’s the saddle?" Hera asked as she turned to the teenager.

    "But..."

"It’s okay... I’m not bragging, but I’m really good with animals, especially horses..." Hera beamed at them, offering the reassurance they needed.

[HeraismySister: Ugh!!! Sister Hera, you’re so manly!!!]

[NorthernDuke: I have better horses in my stable... ??(?︹?)??]

    [GoldenLight: I have a racetrack.]

    [EntertainmentKing: I have horses too...]

[FatherOfCaduceus: I can check the horse’s health and make sure it will not get sick...]

    [Dave_Carson: You’re a doctor, not a vet though... (≧▽≦)]

[FatherOfCaduceus: Start doing your work and stop hiding in someone else’s office.]

    [Dave_Carson: ....]

Before long, the saddle was reluctantly passed to Hera, while Bry still tugged at the back of her sweatshirt. Hera gently rubbed his head a few times before finishing saddling up Diamond. Even Zen started to feel nervous after hearing Bry and his brother’s words.

But Hera looked so determined that he was stumped about what to say at this moment, which is why he kept silent all this time. Everything was moving at a fast pace, leaving them little time to adapt, and Hera climbed onto the horse the moment she finished her preparations.

Bry couldn’t help but hold his breath as he looked up nervously at Hera.

"Where’s the race track? Or would it be an open space?" Hera asked as she held the reins.

"We have the racetrack just a few meters away from here," the teenager absentmindedly answered, his gaze fixed on the docile Diamond. He felt a whirlwind of emotions—excitement, nervousness, and uncertainty—swirling within him, unsure whether tough or cry at the unfolding situation.

"Please lead the way." Hera requested.

The teenager nodded as he hurriedly walked ahead to the racetrack while Hera followed slowly. Diamond has yet to show any impatience and aggressiveness which was a good sign for Hera and the teenager, he could only watch with open eyes to make sure that nothing untoward happened to their guest.

"Si-Sister!!! Are you really gonna be okay?" Bry asked, his voice trembling as he kept a distance from Diamond but still followed them.

Hera didn’t answer, she just smiled at him. When the gate to the racetrack was open, Hera didn’t wait for a second. She let Diamond run to its heart’s content.

"Giddyup!" Hera eximed, tightening her grip on the reins and securing her legs on the saddle as Diamond bolted from their position onto the open track. The rush was so intense that everything around them became a blur. Instead of feeling nervous, Hera was filled with happiness and excitement. ’The exhrating feeling of freedom.’
