    184 will kill him

    Lilith pov

    Everything felt dizzy.

    I couldn’t breathe.

It felt like I was drifting in and out of a haze, sinking deeper into a dark ce that refused to let go, no matter how hard I fought to stay conscious. My eyelids fluttered closed, then open again, my vision blurry at the edges. I couldn’t see anything clearly, but faint words cut through the fog, barely reaching my ears.

“Are you saying we shouldn’t really kill her?! She killed Ivy and made I this way. My mate keeps repeating that her sister’s death was her fault, wanting to kill herself because of what this bitch said. Let’s kill her before things get worse, Leo. You didn’t fight her… she’s scary, way scarier than the leader.”

My eyelids fluttered again, struggling to keep them open, my limbs too weak to move. My throat felt dry, like I couldn’t summon the strength to speak, and I just sat there, bound, the ropes digging painfully into my skin. The darkness pulled at me again, like gravity itself. But in that haze, I saw them.

Two blurry figures. They stood before me.

One was dressed in simple blue clothes, but the other was cloaked in ck, his entire form concealed. His face was barely visible, but the icy aura that radiated from him… I could feel it.

“Do not kill the girl. She is of important use to me. That is the Master’s orders. Ivy’s death and I’s situation are because they are weak. If they are no longer useful to the Master, then they are better off that way,” the man in the cloak spoke, his voice smooth and cold.

My eyes slipped closed again, my breath slow and shallow, as their conversation continued. The air around them felt thinner, colder, like the room itself was tightening.

“Leo! How dare you! We are teammates! A-and as the Master says, we are family!” The other man roared, his voice breaking with rage, trembling as he shouted. But Leo, the man in the cloak, didn’t flinch. He didn’t even seem to acknowledge the outburst.

Instead, I watched as my vision dimmed again, my body feeling weaker, like I was losing control. Everything felt distant, like I was drowning. My limbs felt numb, and as the tension in the room threatened to snap, Leo spoke again, his tone unchanged.

“Family?” he repeated, his words chilling. “The Master says family are useful to each other. Tell me, what makes them our family now, since they are no longer useful?”

His face was devoid of emotion, his words final, without hesitation.

The other man inhaled sharply, stepping back, his face contorting in disbelief. “Master, Master… that’s all you ever say. You only think about the Master. You only talk about him. You’re crazy, Leo. You’ve been. brainwashed! You don’t even think for yourself anymore!”

The man’s words trembled with desperation, but Leo didn’t react. The silence hung heavy, broken only by the distant sound of someone screaming.

    “It’s karma. She’s right, I was weak, I couldn’t save Ivy. I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”

    “No…I!”

I could hear the man rushing off, his footsteps hurried as he sprinted toward the voice. The air around me seemed to grow even colder as I closed my eyes, barely able to form coherent thoughts,

“What’s happening?” I whispered under my breath, my voice a faint rasp, the words barely audible even to myself and then, just as everything was about to fadepletely, an image shed in my mind, a memory that came rushing back before I could stop it.

    The.

In a pool of her own blood.

    184 will kill him

The moment that memory surfaced, the rest followed, rushing back with a violent force- the fight with Drevena against the rogues, the sneak attack on The, the syringe that had been driven into Drevena’s neck. Her words echoed through my mind, just before she lost control.

    Wolf suppressing drug.

For forty-eight hours, she would be locked away.

The darkness around me seemed to dissipate almost immediately, but I didn’t open my eyes. Tears streamed down my face uncontrobly as thoughts of The flooded my mind.

She was the first person to ever show me kindness after the death of my parents. The first one who didn’t hate me, didn’t look at me with contempt. She had been there for me when I had no one else.

    And now she was dead.

    All because of me.

    “It seems you’re awake.”

The voice, emotionless and cutting, sliced through the heavy silence, and for a moment, I could feel his presence, standing just in front of me, and as time seemed to stretch painfully.

    Slowly, I opened my eyes.

    And there he stood.

The man in the cloak, the fourth one at the party. The one who had stabbed a dagger straight into The.

    Leo.

My eyes, still filled with tears, darkened instinctively when I saw him. A rush of hatred and killing intent surged within me, my body trembling as the anger took over. I tried to surge forward, using all my strength, and somehow, perhaps it was due to the burning rage within me, I was able to move.

But the next second, I stopped.

My hands and legs were bound by ropes-no, not just any ropes. Silver-binding ropes. I recognized them immediately. These weren’t ordinary restraints; they were made of silver, something that was deadly to wolves.

It wasn’t something I could escape from by myself. The ropes held me tight, and I could only jerk towards him, an inch off the chair, my face just inches away from his.

But his expression didn’t change in the slightest. He didn’t flinch, didn’t even blink. He stared at me, his eyes hollow, emotionless, like he was looking through me rather than at me and before I could even process what was happening, I fell back into the chair, panting, sweat trickling down my forehead.

There was something else about the silver-binding ropes.

The more you moved or tried to escape, the more they drained your strength. The more you fought against them, the weaker you became. It was as if they were feeding off my energy, pulling every ounce of my power until I was reduced to a panting, broken mess in the chair.

Still, I red at Leo, my chest heaving, every breath abor. I hissed under my breath,

    “You…”

He didn’t respond immediately. He simply stood there, watching me with cold, empty eyes. Then, after a long, torturous pause, he stepped toward the chair in front of me. His movements were slow, deliberate.

“You’re not as strong as you were a while ago, Miss Lilith,” Leo said, his voice t and emotionless. “Please, don’t push yourself too hard. The Master needs you alive.”

I stared at him, feeling the ache spread through my limbs. My body screamed for relief, but I couldn’t afford to show weakness.

The scene from earlier-The, lying in a pool of her own blood, the fight, the rogues, the drug, everything kept reying in my mind like a broken record.

    184) will kill him

But I knew better than to break down. Crying and yelling would do nothing. My father’s voice echoed in my mind, the advice he had drilled into me since I was young.

“My child, when you find yourself in a situation like this, first assess it. Think before you act. Don’t let your emotions cloud your judgment. Strength isn’t just about fighting back, it’s about knowing when to hold your ground and when to wait.”

My father had taught me how to survive, how to stay strong even when everything seemed lost. So, I bit my lip hard, refusing to give in to the overwhelming urge to cry. I forced myself not to break down.

I met Leo’s gaze, my eyes colder now.

“The, the woman you stabbed, is she… is she still alive?”

My voice rang through the silence, cutting through the tension, but Leo didn’t answer right away. He just stared at me, his gaze as empty as ever, before speaking again.

“The Master said you shouldn’t die. He needs you in the best condition. That means you shouldn’t starve either. Is there something you want to eat?”

His words were as if my question hadn’t even mattered. As if he hadn’t heard a word I said. My hands behind me clenched into fists, the ropes biting into my skin, my heart pounding with growing unease. But I forced myself to stay calm. I had to know what happened to the others.

“W-what about the people who were with me?” I asked, my voice thick with panic. “Lora… Alpha Verya, where are they? Are they safe?”

I couldn’t let anything happen to them, especially not Lora. Verya could fight. She might have been able to escape, but Lora was weak and I couldn’t lose her too.

Leo’s face remained impassive. “What do you want to eat? I can get you anything. The Master said he needs you alive. The Master-”

“Stop!” The word came out as a scream, louder than I had meant, but it sliced through the air, a raw, unfiltered roar. Even though I couldn’t feel Drevena’s presence, even though my strength felt like it was slipping away with each breath, something inside me snapped.

The building trembled slightly, as if responding to the power in my voice. Leo didn’t flinch, but his eyes narrowed, his expression unreadable. I was shaking, but I didn’t care. The rage inside me couldn’t be contained

    anymore.

    Rogues.

They were all rogues. I knew it now. The man they kept referring to, the one they called the Master had to be

    one man.

    Verek.

The monster who had destroyed my life, because of him, my father had died. My mother had resorted to drinking wolfbane. Because of him, I had lost her, and now… The.

“Verek…where is he?” My voice was raw, my throat tightening with the anger I could no longer hold back.

“Where is that bastard?” I hissed, my eyes burning with hatred. “Why is he so afraid to show his face? Why is he such a coward? Bring him to me. I will kill him.”

    I was losing it.

I had realized something then. If that bastard was still alive, nothing would stop. No one would be safe. No one would be happy.

For the first time in my life, I truly wanted to kill someone. The man who had made me lose everything.

Leo had been silent until now, unreadable, but as my words hung in the air, his cold demeanor finally cracked. A flicker of anger shed in his eyes. His brows furrowed, lips curling into a frown.

    He lost it.

Before I could say another word, a sharp pain exploded through me. The chair buckled beneath me, and I felt

    1841 will kill him

myself dragged down to the ground as Leo’s foot made contact with my side, kicking me hard.

The impact sent a shock of agony through my body. I grunted in pain, blood flooding my mouth as the blow rattled my ribs.

    “How dare you…”

Leo’s voice growled through the air,ced with fury, as he continued his assault. “How dare you call the Master a coward?!”

With each kick, pain shot through my body. I could taste blood, and each time he hits, my vision blurred, my body fighting to stay conscious as his relentless kicks continued.

The agony became consuming, but through the haze, my thoughts wandered, slipping away from the present.

I thought about the men-those three men who had changed my life.

Lucien, who had wanted to kill me the first time we met, his cold eyes filled with disdain.

ude, who had broken his promise to his brothers, and came back to me after the ritual.

And Ss, the man who had always worn that emotionless mask but who had been the first to say those words: I love you.

I thought about them. I thought about their faces, their voices, as the darkness continued to creep in.

As Leo’s foot was about toe crashing toward my head, straight for my skull, I knew if I would really die

    from this attack.

However, before I could feel the pain…someone stopped him.

My eyes blinked, struggling to focus, but all I saw was a blur of movement. Someone had grabbed Leo, holding him back.

I couldn’t see their face. My mind was too clouded with pain and confusion, but I heard their voice.

“Stop! She’s going to die. Are you crazy, or have you forgotten what the Master said?”

Leo froze, his body stiffening, and I stopped too.

Despite my fading consciousness, despite the overwhelming darkness closing in on me, I recognized that

    voice.

    It was…

    I couldn’t believe it.

At that moment, the goddess’s voice rang through my mind, cutting through the haze.

    “You will

be betrayed by the person you love and trust.”

    Lora.

My heart sank as I lost consciousness.
