Chapter 940: The Only Gamble I Dare Not Make Is Her

Chapter 940: Chapter 940: The Only Gamble I Dare Not Make Is Her

George knew what he was referring to and respectfully replied, "Maxwell Saxon is very calm, doesn’t seem anxious at all, and even mentioned he wants to see you. As for May Denton, she’s terrified, crying and screaming inside, even threatening tomit suicide."

Matthew Saxon smirked, his lips carrying a hint of sarcasm, "Tell them to be vignt; dying isn’t that easy."

George nodded, "Don’t worry, Young Master, I’ve already spoken with them."

"Since Maxwell Saxon wants to meet me, I’ll go see him and find out what he actually wants to say to me." Mentioning Maxwell Saxon’s name, Matthew Saxon spoke with a biting intensity, his long phoenix eyes tinged with a hint of chill.

"Young Master, are you really nning to let him and May Denton go?" George asked warily, "Letting May Denton go is no issue; she’s just a woman, no matter how capable, she can’t stir up much trouble. But Maxwell Saxon is a ruthless character. If you let him go too, there will be plenty of trouble in the future."

There are people like him, even if they have nothing, others still fear them.

These individuals, despite losing everything, have opportunities for aeback. Letting him go would undoubtedly be like releasing a tiger back into the mountains, posing great hidden dangers.

Matthew Saxon curled his thin lips, his phoenix eyes half-narrowed, a seductive smile emerging at his lips, "I’m quite interested to see how he ns to turn things around. Scarlett is in Elian Thomson’s hands. This person is extremely loyal to Maxwell Saxon, and to protect him, he would do anything. If we don’t follow his instructions, he would genuinely kill Scarlett."

Many things he could gamble on, but he dared not gamble on her.

If he lost the gamble, there would never be a chance to start anew, and he would lose her forever.

Matthew Saxon could never disregard Scarlett Yates’s life and safety, nor did he wish for her death.

He nodded respectfully and replied, "Understood, Young Master. I’ll arrange the car immediately."

    --

    "This way, Young Master Saxon."

The police led Matthew Saxon to the outside of the detention room and then stopped at the door.

The door to the room opened, and Matthew Saxon walked in alone.

In the dimly lit room, there was only a long table and two chairs.

Maxwell Saxon was still wearing a neatly pressed suit, his pale but handsome face exhibiting aposed and poised demeanor, though the bloodshot eyes indicated that he hadn’t rested well over the past two days.

Upon hearing Matthew Saxon’s footsteps, he slowly raised his head.

His thin lips curved into a faint smile, "Matthew, you’re here."

"Yes, I’m here." Matthew Saxon also curled his lips, smiling as he sat across from him.

"I didn’t expect you’de so quickly; it surprised me a bit." Maxwell Saxon gazed at him calmly, his tone equally calm, so much so that it felt like they weren’t meeting in a detention room but rather in an elegant tea house.

"As soon as George mentioned my brother requested to meet me, I rushed over." Matthew Saxon called him brother with extreme sarcasm, his slender and beautiful fingers gently tapping on the edge of the table, smiling, "How could I possibly keep my brother waiting."

Their eyes met, and Maxwell Saxon also smiled slightly, calmly stating, "It’sforting to see you’re considering me."

Matthew Saxon’s smile deepened, though his eyes glinted coldly, "You’re my brother, it’s only right."

Maxwell Saxon fell into silence, looking at him with a mixture of a smile and disdainful coldughter, paused for a few seconds, his eyes flickered, and he said self-mockingly, "Victory ims heroes, defeat brings ridicule, lost is lost. I didn’t really have much to say, but actions are my own responsibility; everything I decided has nothing to do with mom. Whatever consequences should be borne, I’ll bear them alone. Let her go."
