    She didn’t hide the joy on her face. Her eyes, filled with a joyful smile, sparkled brightly. The morning sun fell into her eyes, making them seem even darker and softer, like glittering jewels.

    He didn’t want to hurt her. No matter the circumstances, if he hurt her, he wouldn’t feel good about it either.


    He clenched his fists tightly, his restrained lips pressed into a cold, hard line.


    The two seemed to be in a staring contest, as if whoever could stare without blinking until the end would win. After a moment, Maxwell Saxon stood up, turned towards the dining room, and said over his shoulder: "I’ll take you over after breakfast."
