Althea stirred on the bed and sniffed softly, a faint frown forming between her brows. She caught the scent of something delicious, and her stomach rumbled immediately.
She slowly opened her eyes, only to find Gavriel sitting beside her, already watching her.
“You’re finally awake. You sleep like a log for someone who was under attack,” Gavriel muttered before nudging his nose against her cheek and pressing a kiss to her neck.
Althea let out a soft chuckle, squirming slightly. “That tickles.”
“Good morning, my Queen,” Gavriel murmured against her ear. “It’s almost lunchtime. I bet you’re starving.
Althea finally opened her eyes fully. “I am… The food smells so good.”

Her gaze immediately drifted toward the table, where a generous spread of dishes had already beenid out like a small feast. Her mouth watered at the sight.
She squealed when Gavriel suddenly lifted her and carried her over, setting her gently on hisp as he sat on the chair.
Althea was no longer surprised by his boldness. Even though her memories were still iplete, the fragments she retained were enough. Enough to make her feelfortable. Enough to make her feel safe. Enough to know that she loved this man.
“Were there many casualtiesst night?” she asked softly, though deep down she already sensed the answer.
“Only a few wounded,” Gavriel replied. “No deaths on our side. Only among our enemies.”
She nodded and hummed. “I told you. It was a winning battle.”
“Yes,” Gavriel said, casting her a look, “but that does not mean you get to stay idle. Or worse, fall asleep while chaos is happening outside.”
Althea pouted. Then she slid her arms around his neck, resting her head against his chest.
“I feel so safe knowing you’re around,” she confessed quietly. “I’m confident you’ll win it.”
Then she nced at the table and quickly changed the subject. “Can we eat now? I can sit and eat on my own.”
As expected, Gavriel ignored her and began feeding her instead, pampering her without restraint. She didn’tin and simply enjoyed the way he took care of her. After all, it wasn’t every day she got to experience being doted on like this.
If she thought about her past life, being treated as someone precious was something she had always longed for.
Maybe she had experienced this kind of tenderness with Gavriel before as well, but she still couldn’t remember much. So for now, she chose to treasure every moment of it.
“So tell me more about the angels. Are they still around?” Gavriel asked as he watched her chew the piece of meat he had just fed her.
“Hmm… they’re not here right now,” Althea said thoughtfully. “They usually give us privacy. Sometimes they only show themselves when there’s danger, or when someone is in distress and needsfort.”
“So that Aurus,” Gavriel continued, eyes narrowing slightly. “Does he look like a man? Is he good-looking?”

Althea paused mid-chew and slowly turned to stare at him. She even blinked a few times, surprised by how intensely he was watching her, clearly waiting for an answer.
She bit her lower lip, trying to suppress augh, then asked innocently, “Are you being jealous of an angel?”
Gavriel’s frown deepened. “Of course not! I just… can’t see them, so I’m curious what they look like. And you still haven’t answered me. Is this Aurus handsome?”
“Of course!” she said with a grin. “Aurus is a mighty lion with wings. He looks incredibly powerful.”
“A lion?” Gavriel repeated, clearly caught off guard.
She nodded, her smile widening.
Yes. A mighty lion. A talking lion. So don’t think nonsense things.”
Then she added more seriously, “They’re heavenly beings created only to carry out God’s missions. They’re not like fallen angels who became demons here on earth. They’re faithful to God, obedient, and will nevermit sin or do anything forbidden by Heaven.”
Gavriel slowly nodded. “You’ve learned a lot about them in such a short time.”
“I have,” she agreed softly. “I’ve been having visions and dreams that help me understand things. And besides… Elior left us a copy of the Book of the Law of God. That helped too.”
“How about my angels?” Gavriel asked.
“You have three around you,” Althea replied softly. “One guarding your left, one on your right, and one at your back. Dariel and Xyriel look like male humans with wings, but far more majestic. The one behind you is Lionel. He also looks like a lion with wings.’
Gavriel listened quietly, absorbing every word.
“Hm… you’ll be able to see them soon,” Althea added. “If you ask for it.”
Gavriel nodded in understanding. Elior had already told him about such things. All he needed was to pray and ask God for wisdom, discernment, and the ability to see beyond the physical world.
“Alright then,” Gavriel said with a faint smirk. “Finish your breakfast and recharge some more, because you’ll definitely have a long day ahead.”
Althea’s face instantly burned red, fully understanding what her husband meant. She quickly grabbed a slice of fruit from the tter and began munching on it, trying her best topose herself.
Gavriel chuckled as his gaze lingered on her lips. “Are they sweet?” he asked.
She nodded.
“Let me have a taste,” he murmured.
Before she could react, he leaned in and captured her lips in a deep, lingering kiss. It felt as though he was stealing the sweetness straight from her mouth, his kiss slow yet consuming.
Her mind went nk as his tongue briefly brushed hers, leaving her breathless when he finally pulled away.
A wide, satisfied smile curved on his lips as he casually licked them.
“Absolutely sweet.”
Althea’s face instantly burned hot. But then something stirred inside her. Without thinking, she shifted and
