Chapter 1502

That afternoon, Manager Brown from the HR department personally interviewed the candidate rmended by Shaun Wace. The girl sitting across from him was Yvette Wace. At twenty-four, she was an Ivy League graduate with a master''s degree in finance. She was beautiful, sweet, and met all the hiring criteria wlessly. Before the interview, Manager Brown had received a call from Shaun andpletely understood his intentions. The executive office happened to need an assistant to handle meeting minutes and daily document organization. The work was basic, but it offered extensive ess to thepany''s inner workings.

It was a position that wouldn''t seem overly contrived, yet it allowed for a natural entry into the core office area to interact with upper management.

Clearly, Shaun had meticulously nned this arrangement.

After all, ever sincen Goodwin took office, he had strictly warned all executives against using their power for personal gain.

After going through the systematic interview process, Manager Brown spoke directly, "Ms. Wace, you cane in for onboarding next Monday."

"No problem. Thank you, Manager Brown." Yvette stood up, a sh of pleasant surprise in her eyes. Deep down, she already knew she was guaranteed to pass the interview.

Her aunt, Miranda, had given her the heads-up beforehand. Today''s interview was just a formality to prevent anyone from suspecting she got in through nepotism.

Of course, nding a job at Goodwin & Co. was one thing, but the real task her aunt had assigned her was entirely separate from her official duties.

She was here to catch the eye of the CEO,n Goodwin.

There was no need to rush. Her mother had also warned her to focus on doing her job well first and let herpetence speak for itself.

Yvette was no naive pushover. She had already used various channels to conduct in-depth research on the young business tycoon.

She knewn wasn''t some yboy who could be easily swayed by a pretty face. On the contrary, he was incredibly calm and rational, ruthless in the business world, and notoriously focused onpetence and results when it came to his employees.

Yvette was well aware that she had only secured a green card into Goodwin & Co. If she truly wanted to establish a foothold in front ofn, let alone grab his attention, she had to prove her worth.

She was highly confident in her abilities, backed by her ster education and experience.

Even though she was currently just an assistant handling meeting minutes and documents, she was fine with ivette checked her hai the polished mirror of the elevator, a confident smile ying on her lips. She was still young, and there was plenty of time. She had the patience and the strategy.

    Back in theb.

After a long day of work, Eleanor Sutton rubbed her sore shoulders as she returned to her office. Just then, Gwenda walked over and said, "Eleanor, someone delivered some takeout earlier. I put it in your office."

Eleanor blinked in surprise. "Who sent it?"

Gwenda gave her a knowing smile. "Looking at the packaging, it''s a five-star hotel afternoon tea set. I''m guessing it''s from Mr. Goodwin!"

Eleanor paused for a moment before smiling. "Let''s go have some together, then."

Gwenda''s eyes lit up immediately. "Really? I''m in for a treat!"

When they reached the office, they found a securely packaged delivery bag bearing the logo of a five-star hotel.

    Inside was a delicate two-tiered

pastry stand. The top tier held an array of exquisite French pastries, while the bottom was filled with finger sandwiches and fruit tarts, all apanied by two steaming cups of floral tea and coffee.

"Wow! This is a feast!" Gwenda stared in awe. "Mr. Goodwin is so incredibly thoughtful."

Looking at the spread, Eleanor realized she was feeling a bit hungry after her busy day. She had to admit, the gesture was deeply heartwarming.
