Eleanor frowned. "Are you sure you''re still fit to attend a meeting?"
"Let''s go," Eleanor said. "Is Gavin downstairs?"
"He is,"n confirmed.
The two of them left first, while the rest of the staff stayed behind to chat. Waiting by the elevator,n swayed slightly on his feet but quickly steadied himself.
"Why don''t you push the afternoon meeting back by an hour?" Eleanor suggested. "Yeah. I''ll have Gavin send out a notice in a bit,"n agreed, nodding.
The moment they walked out of the hotel lobby, Gavin hurried over to meet them. "Mr. Goodwin, Miss Sutton."
"Take us back to the office,"n told him. "And push the shareholder meeting back an hour."
"Right away," Gavin replied instantly.
The midday sun was beating down on them. Eleanor walked alongside him to the car, andn didn''t forget to open the door for her, gesturing for her to get in first.
Eleanor ducked inside, andn followed. Once seated, he took off his sses, holding them in his hand as he turned to face her.
Without the lenses in the way, the swirling emotions in his deep eyes seemed even more intense.
"Thank you for intercepting that drink for me."
Eleanor looked away. "You did that on purpose, didn''t you?"
"You saw right through me again, huh?"n chuckled softly. His tone held a hint of drunken lethargy and the smug satisfaction of having gotten his way.
Leaning back against the seat, he closed his eyes and massaged his temples. "I thought you weren''t paying any attention to me."
Eleanor turned to look at him. Ian was clearly drunk, and he looked quite exhausted. His thick eyshes rested against his cheeks like natural eyeliner as he rested with his eyes closed.
Eleanor said softly, "Don''t do this again. It''s bad for your health."
Sunlight streamed through the car window, casting shifting shadows over the smooth contours of his face.
Gavin started the engine, and the car glided smoothly toward the Goodwin & Co. Tower.
It took thirty minutes to drive from the restaurant to the corporate headquarters, andn seemed to fall asleep on the way.
Gavin focused on the road while Eleanor was lost in her own thoughts.
They finally arrived at the front entrance of the Goodwin building. Gavin nced in the rearview mirror at his sleeping boss and whispered to Eleanor, "Miss Sutton, should we let Mr. Goodwin sleep in bit
Just then,n''s eyes fluttered open.

"I''ll rest in the office," he announced, having clearly overheard Gavin.
Gavin quickly hopped out to get his door, while Eleanor opened hers and stepped
out.
As she walked over to him,n swayed slightly on his feet. Eleanor instinctively reached out to grab his arm.
With that, he straightened his posture, as if worried Eleanor might think he was too frail.
Standing nearby, Gavin had to fight back a smile. What on earth was Mr. Goodwin trying to prove?
It was a miracle Miss Sutton was willing to help him at all.
Eleanor quickly pulled her hand back and took a step away. "Let''s go."
