Chapter 1477

Evelyn nodded obediently and walked away. Ian poured Eleanor a ss of water. She was feeling thirsty, so she took it. "Thanks."

Eleanor froze for a moment. She hadn''t expectedn to see right through her emotions, but his words trulyforted her.

"Sooner orter, she''s going to be so proud of you. You''ll be a precious role model for her as she grows,"n continued.

Eleanor was stunned again. Ian''s words were filled with encouragement and strength, offering her a profound sense of support.

She had always tried hard to find a bnce between her career and her role as a mother. Sometimes, when work consumed too much of her time, she felt inadequate in being there for her daughter, and the guilt would follow.

Looking at her daughter in the living room, Eleanor''s eyes grew slightly red. She turned to him and said, "Thank you."

That sentence really made her feel much better. At the same time, she was grateful for his understanding and support regarding her career, as well as his care and sense of responsibility toward their daughter.

"If there''s ever anything I can help with, just say the word,"n said in a deep voice.

"Alright." Eleanor didn''t stand on ceremony. If she ever needed the resources of Goodwin Technology, she would ask him.

"Focus on your work for now," Ian told her. "Leave Evelyn''s schooling to me. I''ll also have someone keep a close eye on the house renovations so we can move in before September first."

Eleanor tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. For a moment, she didn''t know what to say to him. She wanted to say thank you, but she had already said it too many times.

"Let''s get dinner together sometime," Eleanor finally replied.

"How about tomorrow for lunch? Right across from yourb. If you''re too busy, eating at the cafeteria with you works too,"n suggested eagerly.

Eleanor paused. She had merely been expressing a polite intention; she hadn''t expected him to take her up on it so quickly.

"Okay, let''s do a restaurant near theb," Eleanor decided, not wanting him to eat at a cafeteria.

Early the next morning,n came up to pick Evelyn up, nning to take her to the equestrian club around noon.

Around noon, while Eleanor was busy working, Diaz Archer called out to her, "Eleanor, your phone is ringing."

Eleanor snapped out of her focus, guessing it wasn calling.

She picked up her phone and checked. Sure enough, it was him.

    "Hello?" Eleanor answered.

"Are you done with work? I''m waiting for you in theb lobby."

"Okay, give me ten minutes," Eleanor said, then hung up.

Ten minutester in theb lobby,, the receptionists had been buzzing with excitement. They hadn expectedn to show up outof nowhere.

When Eleanor walked out of the elevator holding her bag, the receptionists immediately guessed that the personn had been waiting so patiently for was her

After all, he hadn''t even checked his phone once the entire time; he

Eleanor noticed the stares from the front desk. Her face warmed slightly as she turned ton. "Let''s go."

With one hand in his pocket,n followed her at a rxed pace, evidently in a great mood today.

"Is the restaurant fromst time okay?" Eleanor asked him.<pn nodded. "Anything is fine." For him, the food wasn''t the point—it was about who he was eating with.
