Chapter 1153

All he wanted was to drive out a notorious businessman like Rnd, preventing him from ever wreaking havoc in the business world again. The Yeatons'' bankruptcy was a consequence, but more importantly, it served as a warning to everyone else.

"Understood, Mr. Goodwin. We''ll handle the remaining matters through standard business procedures."

    "Mm,"n replied softly.

Gavin understood that his boss''s goal had been achieved. The scraps left over from the Yeatons were beneath his notice; the storm targeting Yeaton Holdings could finally subside.

The morning''s top story, sshed across the front page of the financial news, was the blockbuster announcement of Yeaton Holdings'' bankruptcy and liquidation.

The report detailed the situation at Yeaton Holdings, its wording exceptionally cautious.

But every prominent figure in the business world knew, without a word being said, whose hand was behind the entire affair.

Suddenly, undercurrents stirred throughout the businessmunity.

And all signs pointed unequivocally to one personn, the new President of The Guild of Commerce.

Combined with the fact that the Yeatons themselves didn''t have a clean history— having built their empire on all sorts of shady practices before going public—this liquidation served as a clear signal. During his tenure as President of The Guild of Commerce, anyone who tried to challenge the rules, y dirty tricks, and especially anyone who dared to scheme against him, would have to be prepared to face the consequences.

This incident certainly made some of the old guard re-evaluate the young President of The Guild of Commerce and reconsider how they would interact with him in the future. Without a doubt, the affair was his signal that he intended to clean up the business world.

--The storms of the business world, however, hardly affected the lives of ordinary people, and they certainly couldn''t prate the disciplined atmosphere of the scientificmunity.

Eleanor''s workload had recently increased, but thankfully, she also had some good news to report on her progress.

At lunch in the cafeteria, Eleanor ran into Simone Langley, who had brought some students over to borrow ab for the day.

"Ellie, I haven''t seen you in a couple of months! I heard you''re back at the BCIb." Simone looked much thinner, but her spirits seemed high.

"That''s right. My research will be focused here from now on," Eleanor said with a smile.

"How''s your health? Have you had a check-up recently?" Simone asked suddenly, her tone full of concern.

Eleanor nodded. "I actually had one not too long ago. Everything''s fine."

A look of relief shed in Simone''s eyes as she nodded. "No matter how busy you get, you have to take care of your health. Don''t think you can neglect it just because you'' young."

    "I will, Professor Langley. I have a

meeting to get to, so I should g

now," Eleanor said apologetically, though she would have liked to stay and chat longer.

"Go on," Simone said with a smile.

After Eleanor left, a young student beside Simone asked excitedly, "Professor Langley, was that Dr. Eleanor Sutton? Oh my god, she''s so young!"

"Yes, that was her. You should all learn from her."

"If I didn''t know she was a researcher and just saw her on the street, I would''ve sworn she was an actress!"

"I''m so jealous! She''s beautiful, brilliant, and I heard she''s rich, too," one of the students said, resting her chin in her hands.

    "Alright, stop just being envious,"

    Simone told her students. "Focusing

on your own research is what-

matters. You can''t imagine the hard work she put m to get where she is today."

The students nodded in agreement, but their chatter continued, just more quietly.

Eleanor hurried back to the conference room. Just as she reached the door, Gwenda quickly pulled her aside. "Eleanor, Mr. Goodwin is here, too."

Eleanor''s steps faltered almost imperceptibly for a moment before she nodded. "I see."
