Chapter 1135

Eleanor took off herb coat. Callie was staying behind to record data and told her to go ahead, and Eleanor reminded him not to stay toote.

As Eleanor walked out of her office with her bag, a figure in the hallway smiled and approached her. "Miss Sutton, heading home?"

"Gavin? What are you doing here?" Eleanor asked in surprise.

"I''m here to take you home. Mr. Goodwin was concerned you''d be tired from workingte, so he sent me to be your driver," Gavin exined.

Eleanor did feel exhausted, so for safety''s sake, she didn''t refuse.

The ride home was smooth, thanks to Gavin''s steady driving, and she felt a surge of gratitude.

When they reached the parking garage, Eleanor thanked him. "Gavin, thank you for your trouble. You should get some rest."

"Miss Sutton, if you want to thank someone, thank Mr. Goodwin," Gavin said, not daring to take the credit. He was just an employee following orders.

The gesture came from his boss.

Eleanor nodded and walked towards the elevator. She checked the time-ten past ten. She gently pushed open the door to her apartment. Only a warm yellow floormp was lit in the living room, filling the space with a quiet, cozy ambiance.

She wondered if Joslyn had already put their daughter to bed in the master bedroom. As she tiptoed from the entryway into the living room, the scene before her made her stop in her tracks.

Eleanor approached quietly. Ian looked up at her and said in a low voice, "You''re back."

"I''m sorry for taking up your time," Eleanor whispered. She couldn''t deny thatn''s own work schedule was demanding.

"No need to be so formal with me. She''s our daughter-we''re both responsible for her,"n said softly.

"I''ll take her upstairs to bed. You should go home and rest," Eleanor said, leaning down to take their daughter. Butn stopped her, saying, "I''ll carry her up."

Their girl wasn''t exactly heavy, but she was over forty pounds.

Eleanor nodded and went upstairs first with her bag. Ian followed behind. She opened the door to the master bedroom, andn gently ce their daughter on the bed. The little girl smacked her lips, turned over, and continued to sleep soundly.

Eleanor stood at the doorway, quietly watching the scene. This used to be a familiar

part of her daily life, but now it felt like a distant memory.

    "It is," Eleanor nodded.

"That''s good,"n murmured. Eleanor stepped aside, and he walked out of the

    room.

After hearing the front door click shut, Eleanor grabbed her pajamas and went into the bathroom, nning to take a quick shower before bed.

Down in the parking garage, Gavin was waiting for his boss. Seeingne down, he opened the rear car door. "Mr. Goodwin, the video conference is scheduled for eleven-thirty. We should make it."

A weekter, a piece of news broke in the financial papers-Yeaton Holdings was facing bankruptcy due to a ruptured capital chain, and its stock price had plummeted.

On her way to the cafeteria with Gwenda, Eleanor heard the news. Sheter pulled out her phone to check-Yeaton Holdings was embroiled in a debt crisis, and its Chairman, Rnd Weaton was on the brink of ruin.

As for the mastermind behind the crisis at Yeaton Holdings, Eleanor had a good

    idea who it was.
