Serena picked up her phone and started looking up Vanessa''s recent activities. To her surprise, after posting that ambiguous update with Xavier, Vanessa had followed up with a poster announcing her performance at the Kingston Art Festival. The festival was next week, and Vanessa had been invited as a guest performer.
Serena stared at the poster. Vanessa was in a white evening gown, looking elegant and pure, like a goddess.
But now, Serena knew what a maniptive, scheming woman was hiding behind that graceful smile.
Thinking about everything Vanessa had done over the years, Serena gritted her teeth.
She found the phone number of the festival''s director and dialed without hesitation. "Hello, who is this?"
"Director Wells, hello. My name is Serena. I''d like to report a serious issue with the personal conduct of the piano artist you''ve hired, Vanessa Shannon."
The director on the other end sounded surprised. "Miss Goodwin, Miss Shannon is a pianist we''ve hired at great expense. Her artistic achievements are internationally recognized "
"Mr. Wells, I have evidence proving that her artistic achievements are fraudulent and that her international piano certifications are highly questionable," Serena said, her tone bing more serious. "My name is Serena. Ian, the CEO of Goodwin & Co., is my brother. I am making this report under my own name and am willing to bear full responsibility for any inuracies."
"This is—" Director Wells was clearly shocked.
Serena pressed on. "Mr. Wells, the art festival represents the highest standard of artistic pursuit. If you allow someone who has achieved fame through deception to perform on your stage, it will not only damage the festival''s reputation but also dishearten other artists. Wouldn''t you agree?"
"Miss Goodwin, can you provide the relevant evidence?"
"I will send the evidence to your email shortly urge you to take this matter
"Evenously," Serena continued.
"Even if you don''t disqualify her, I will expose her in the future. If that ends up affecting your festival, I apologize in advance."
Director Wells''s voice grew stern. "Miss Goodwin, thank you for your call. I will treat this matter with thez utmost seriousness. Upon receiving your evidence, I will immediately convene an emergency meetin re-evaluate Miss Shannon''s eligibility to perform."
Serena hung up. To stop Vanessa''s performance, she could only attack her personal conduct for now. The evidence ofn''s past sponsorship and her artistic fraud was something she couldn''t get her hands on at the moment.
Serenapiled the previous conversations with Vanessa and her assistant, which were enough to prove Vanessa''s deliberate interference inn''s marriage.
After sending the email, she decided to wait patiently for the result.
The news of Eleanor starting a new rtionship left her feeling down for a while, but she soon came to terms with it. No matter who Eleanor chose to marry in the future, Serena vowed to repay her for the rest of
her life to make up for how she had hurt her in the past.
And althoughn had lost Eleanor, they still had a daughter together, so they would never bepletely out of each other''s lives. In the future,n could surely help Eleanor with his research connections andwork.
As forn''s future love life, Serena couldn''t interfere. Maybe he would meet the right woman and marry again, or maybe he would remain single for the rest of his life.
Around four o''clock, Serena went to find Eleanor. "Ellie, my grandmother would like you toe to my home for dinner today. She hasn''t seen Evelyn in a long time and misses her very much."
Eleanor was taken aback. Just then, a message fromn came through. "I''m taking Evelyn to Goodwin Manor tonight. Could you bring Serena back with you?"
