Chapter 816

The vast chasm between their realities gnawed at Faye''s heart like a venomous snake. She struggled to maintain a calm facade, but her tightly clenched fists betrayed her inner turmoil.

Laura was secretly in awe. Eleanor was incredibly captivating to have attracted three such handsome men, each one more striking than thest.

Sonya, unsure of the situation, approached with a smile. "Miss Sutton, and this is?" she asked, looking at Xavier, whom she didn''t recognize.

"This is my friend, Xavier. He was in Kingston on business and came to see Professor Langley," Eleanor exined, rising to her feet. "This is Professor Langley''s sister, Ms. Langley."

"Mr. Vaughn, hello. It''s very kind of you toe," Sonya said gratefully.

"Not at all, Ms. Langley," Xavier replied politely.

Sonya looked at Eleanor''s pale face with concern. "Miss Sutton, you should go back to the hotel and rest. We can watch over things here. We''ll call you if anything changes."

Eleanor was about to protest when Mansfield spoke up in a low voice. "Ms. Langley is right. You need to rest. Dr. Lyman will notify us immediately if there''s any change."

"It''s fine," Eleanor insisted, shaking her head. "I can manage."

"You''ve been here for so long, and you even fainted from low blood sugar. We can''t have you copsing," Sonya said, her voice full of genuine concern.

The words "fainted from low blood sugar" hitn like a physical blow. His gaze shot to Eleanor, his worry in to see. He finally understood why she had stumbled when he arrived.

Xavier, too, was looking at Eleanor, his suspicions confirmed. The video showed exactly what he had thought: Eleanor had fainted from low blood sugar, and Mansfield had caught her. His eyes then darted to Faye, a sharp, warning glint in them.

Faye had been watchingn''s reaction, her heart sinking as she saw his undisguised concern for Eleanor. Just then, she felt another pair of eyes on her. She nced over and saw Xavier staring at her A chill ran down her spine Why was he looking at her like that Confused and unnerved, she quickly lowered her gaze.

Xavier knew the video on Henry''s phone hade from Faye. Her tactic of filming out of context was both shameful and malicious. She had taken a normal reaction to a medical issue and twisted it into something scandalous to send to Henry.

But at least now, Xavier felt a sense of relief. He had known there had to be a reason. Eleanor would never behave so inappropriately in public.

"Ellie, we brought you some food. You need to eat something," Laura said, remembering the bag she was holding.

"Miss Sutton, please, have a little something," Sonya urged. "There''s a lounge down the hall. You can eat in there."

Eleanor took the bag from Laura and nodded. "Alright."

Sonya''s daughter, a young woman in her early twenties, couldn''t help but stare at the three powerful men. She had never seen anything like it. From the moment she saw Eleanor She had thought she was beautiful, with the looks of a movie star. Now, seeing these three wealthy and influential men all by her side, she felt a sense of pure awe and envy.

"I''ll go with you," Mansfield said immediately.

Seeing that Laura had packed enough for everyone, Eleanor turned to Xavier. "Xavier, have you eaten?"

"I was in a hurry to get here, so no, not yet," he replied naturally.
