Chapter 766: Katelyn’s & Sage’s Wedding (1)

Chapter 766: Katelyn’s & Sage’s Wedding (1)

Katelyn’s breath hitched as she traced the intricatece patterns with her fingertips, the silk trail pooling like a cloud around her feet. The off-shoulder design highlighted the delicate line of her neck, while the full, sheer sleeves added a touch of grace to her silhouette.

In the reflection, she saw her mother move toward her. Mabel’s eyes were already shimmering with tears. She stepped into the frame, her handsing to rest on Katelyn’s shoulders with a gentle, grounding squeeze.

    "You look beautiful," Mabel whispered.

Mabel leaned in, her eyes reflecting pride and the bittersweet realization that her daughter was truly grown.

"This feeling is so different, Mom," Katelyn said. "I feel like I’ll step into a new role soon. And this dress feels perfect, just the way I desired."

Amelie and Zilia, who had been standing by the window to give the mother and daughter a moment of privacy, exchanged a soft, knowing nce.

"Even your makeup and hair style has been done with exceptional care," Zilia remarked, stepping forward with a warm smile to lighten the heavy atmosphere.

She adjusted the hem of her own maternity-friendly gown, her eyes sparkling.

"The stylists were terrified of making even a single strand of hair out of ce. They knew today you have to be the most radiant woman in the kingdom."

Amelie nodded in agreement, reaching out to gently straighten a smallce detail on Katelyn’s sleeve. "Zilia is right. You aren’t just a bride today, Kate; you’re the heart of this entire celebration."

Amelie stepped forward and handed the wedding bouquet to Katelyn, who epted the lush arrangement with a warm, genuine smile. The flowers were a mix of white peonies and soft sprigs ofvender, tied with a heavy silk ribbon.

"Sister Zilia and I made this bouquet together for you," Amelie said, her eyes bright with affection.

"That’s so thoughtful of both of you," Katelyn replied. "Having something you both touched makes it feel even more special."

The quiet intimacy of the chamber was gently interrupted as a maidservant stepped through the heavy oak doors. "Your Majesty, the auspicious moment has arrived. The guests are seated, and the ceremony is ready to begin," she announced with a low curtsy.

The atmosphere in the room shifted instantly from tender to ceremonial. The lead stylist stepped forward with the gossamer-thince veil, and Mabel, Amelie, and Zilia instinctively stepped back.

Katelyn stood tall, her gaze fixed on her reflection as the veil was lowered over her head.

As the final pin was secured, the distant sound of the pce trumpets echoed through the stone corridors, signaling that the bride was ready to begin her walk.

Katelyn halted at the threshold of the chamber, her mother and sisters-inw stopping behind her. Standing in the corridor were her father and three brothers, their usual stern gazes momentarily softened by the sight of her.

Raidan’s breath hitched as his eyes swept over the intricatece of her gown and the long, heavy trail pooling on the stone floor. He stepped forward, his hands trembling slightly as he reached out to take hers.

"Look at you," he murmured. "It feels like only yesterday you were a girl ying in these halls. Now, I’m the one who has to walk you down the aisle. I am incredibly proud of the woman you’ve be, Katelyn. You are more than ready for the life ahead of you."

Katelyn squeezed his hands, her throat tightening. "Dad, don’t. If I start crying now, I’ll never make it to the altar," she said, forcing a small, fragile smile. "The truth is, I don’t want to leave this house. I’m going to miss everything about being home."

Raidan let out a short, self-deprecating chuckle and stepped back to wipe the moisture from the corners of his eyes with his thumb. "Ignore me. I’m just an old man getting sentimental when I should be focused on getting you to the ceremony on time."

He straightened his posture, offering his arm to her. Behind him, Casaio lifted Katelyn’srge veil as he didn’t want it to touch on the floor. Dominick and Gabriel also helped their brother as it was too long.

"The servants can do that," Katelyn said, ncing back at the longce trail of her gown.

"No, your brothers will handle it," Dominick insisted, his smile reaching his eyes. He and Gabriel stepped in behind her, carefully lifting the heavy fabric of the trail to keep it from dragging on the stone floor.

Katelyn’s smile widened as she tucked her arm into her mother’s, and they began the slow walk toward the grand hall.

Zilia followed closely behind the three princes, her hand resting instinctively on her stomach as she watched the siblings’ rare moment of cooperation.

The quiet of the hallway was broken by Ashna, who hurried toward them with a restless toddler in her arms. "Your Highness, Prince Noah was asking for you, so I brought him here," she informed Amelie, carefully shifting the boy into his mother’s reach. "He refused to sit with his grandparents any longer."

"Baby, what happened?" Amelie murmured, pulling Noah into a tight embrace and pressing several quick kisses to his forehead.

Noah tucked his face into her neck, his small hands clutching at the silk of her dress, clearly overwhelmed by the crowd and the suddenmotion of the wedding morning.

Amelie stepped into the grand hall. Ashna followed closely behind as Amelie shifted Noah’s weight, trying to keep his small suit from wrinkling.

"Baby, your aunt is going to marry soon," she murmured, brushing a stray hair from his forehead. "You need to smile for her, okay?"

Noah remained quiet until Idris came running toward them. Idris stopped in front of them and waved enthusiastically at Noah, whose face instantly lit up. A bright, toothy grin finally broke across the toddler’s face as he reached out toward him.

Seeing the change in Noah’s mood, Amelie let out a breath of relief. "Thank you foring, Idris. You’ve worked a miracle," she said with a warm smile. She looked the young boy over, noting his miniature tuxedo and perfectlybed hair. "You look like such a handsome boy today. Very dapper."

Idris beamed at thepliment, standing a little taller. "I’m going to watch the flowers!" he announced proudly, referring to his role in the procession.

Amelie nodded, her gaze shifting toward the altar where Sage was already waiting.
