Chapter 969

From Colin Gonzalez, to George Spencer, to the Rogers family, and now with Vincent''s capture, this vast criminal syndicate had finally crumbled.

After taking off his uniform and having a quick shower, Bet changed into some casual clothes and went to the nursery to see his daughter.

Coralie had just fallen asleep, her little face fair and delicate. Her cheeks were round, and her rosy lips were pursed, making her look absolutely adorable as she slept.

Bet leaned down, gently touched her tiny hand, and gazed at her with a smile for a long moment before quietly leaving.

The maternity nurse was in the nursery tidying up. Seeing Bet, she smiled and said, "Mr. Thompson, you''re back. Coralie just fell asleep."

"Yes," Bet nodded, adding, "Thank you for your hard work," before leaving the nursery.

As the nurse watched him go, she smiled and shook her head.

She had worked for many families, but it was rare to find a man of his position who was so down-to-earth and so devoted to his wife and daughter.

After checking on his daughter, Bet returned to the bedroom.

Yvonne was sitting on the bed, getting ready for a nap.

Bet walked over, sat on the edge of the bed, lifted the covers, andy down beside her.

Yvonne turned over and snuggled into his arms. Her eyes blinked open, not quite sleepy yet.

"I went to see Grandfather today. He asked what our ns were to mark Coralie''s one-month milestone," Bet said.

Frank and Emma Thompson had finally gotten their precious granddaughter and wanted to shout it from the rooftops and throw a huge celebration.

However, Bet''s position required a bit more discretion.

Yvonne wasn''t one for the spotlight either, and throwing avish party for a one- month-old baby seemed unnecessary.

"Coralie is too little, and the weather is getting cold, so it''s not a good idea to take her out. For the one-month celebration, it''s enough for our family to just get together for a nice, lively dinner," Yvonne said.

"I agree," Bet replied, his long

    fingers casually ying with

Ssoft hair. "We can host a

bigger party for her first birthday when Coralie is a little older. MY parent can organize it their name, so we won''t have to worry about much."

"Okay," Yvonne murmured, her beautiful eyes already closing. Soon, her steady,

even breaths filled the quiet room.

The next day, Yvonne went to the hospital with Bet.

Cynthia had just had her C-section and had to remain in bed, but she looked well. Her face was glowing with a constant smile, and her eyes shone with light, radiating the pure, unadulterated happiness of woman who finally had the family she''d dreamed of.

Noah was holding their newborn son, a look of pure pride on his face. The baby was

a strapping little boy, looking almost as big as Coralie had at one month old.

Yvonne sat by the hospital bed, chatting with Cynthia for a while, and tucked a generous gift into the baby''s bass.

The hospital had strict visiting hours, so Bet and Yvonne didn''t stay long before saying their goodbyes.

The two of them left the hospital.

Bet held Yvonne''s hand, and instead of driving, they strolled slowly down the small road outside the hospital The path was lined with tall maple trees, and red leaves drifted gently down, creating a scene as beautiful as a painting.

Yvonne kept one hand in her coat pocket, while Bet took her other hand and tucked it into his own pocket.

“Cynthia has finally gotten everything she wanted," Yvonne said casually.

"Mm," Bet responded nomittally. "Her scheming was real, but so were her feelings. I suppose that''s enough."

Yvonne just smiled, choosing not toment on someone else''s rtionship.

When it came to matters of the heart, it was a personal affair; only those involved could truly know what it was like.
