Chapter 966

Ynda died with her eyes wide open, a mask of frozen horror on her face that suggested she had died in agony.

The doctor made the routine call to the family. Vincent rushed to the hospital but didn''t even get to see his daughter onest time.

"Mr. Walker, my condolences," the doctor said helplessly.

A sh of raw pain crossed Vincent''s face. He walked over and pulled back the corner of the white sheet covering Ynda''s face.

Perhaps her expression in death was too unsettling, as he only lifted a corner of the sheet for a nce before looking away.

"Thank you for your efforts. I''ll have someone handle the arrangements." After speaking to the doctor, Vincent hurriedly left the hospital.

He didn''t return to the Walker estate but went straight to April''s apartment.

April had just managed to get the baby settled in his bass when Vincent came bursting through the door. He pulled out a suitcase and began frantically throwing things inside.

"Vincent, what are you doing? Are you going somewhere?" April asked, confused.

"Ynda... Ynda is dead,” Vincent told April.

April froze for a moment before offering a stiff constion. "Ynda was sick for so long, she must have been in pain every day. In a way, she''s finally free. Don''t be too sad."

"I was already prepared for her death since her illness was incurable. But now that Ynda''s gone, her mother will definitely not let me off the hook. We have to leave. We have to leave right now."

Vincent said urgently, his eyes showing an unprecedented panic.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, April immediately started packing with him. There was a safe in the house, and she stuffed all the cash, jewelry, and other valuables into the suitcase.

They couldn''t take the properties with them, and there was no time to sell. They would just have to see what happenedter.

The two of them scrambled, hastily packing their bags before grabbing the child and rushing out the door.

Vincent drove while April sat in the back, holding the baby.

Themotion woke the baby, who whimpered in April''s arms.

As she soothed the child, April asked Vincent, "I was stoppedst time I tried to

leave the country, so I''m sure I can''t fly out this time either. Where are we going?"

"First, to the docks. I''ve already

made arrangements to get us onto a cargo ship. Once we''re out of the

country, we''ll fly to Meropis. I have

    you and our sons

    property there so yo

won''t have to suffer," Vincent said.

    "Okay." April nodded.

She trusted that Vincent would arrange everything perfectly, just as he always had. He could effortlessly solve the problems she couldn''t, giving her someone to rely on.

But for some reason, her heart was filled with a deep sense of unease.

After Ynda''s death, the funeral was hastily handled by a mortuary service. Vincent was in such a rush to flee that he didn''t even buy a burial plot for her. Ynda''s u

    emained in storage at the

    crematorium.

When Mrs. Walker learned that her only daughter had passed away, she was first in disbelief, then became hysterical.

"Impossible, my daughter can''t be dead. You must be lying to me, right? I want to see Vincent! I want to see my husband!"

"Your husband, Mr. Vincent Walker, disappeared after your daughter''s passing without even attending her funeral" The investigator showed Mrs. Walker photos from Ynda''s funeral.

In the photos, Mrs. Walker saw her daughter''s bleak, empty funeral, attended only

by unfamiliar staff. Not a single friend or family member was there, not even Vincent, her own father.
