Chapter 925

The family held the baby, waiting for the new mother to be wheeled out of the delivery room.

For a natural birth like this, they would only need to stay in the hospital for a day or two before going home.

But the mother wasn''t wheeled out. Instead, doctors and nurses began rushing in and out, their faces etched with tension and urgency.

At that point, the family waiting by the door was still utterly bewildered. It wasn''t until

a doctor came out and informed them, "The patient is suffering from an amniotic fluid embolism. We''re doing everything we can."

The family probably didn''t fully grasp how dangerous an amniotic fluid embolism was, but their faces were still clouded with worry.

"Doctor, my daughter has always been so healthy. How could giving birth suddenly put her in critical condition?" the mother''s father asked, confused.

The woman''s husband grabbed the doctor''s hand, pleading, "Doctor, my wife will be okay, right? You have to do whatever it takes to save her. We''ll pay any amount of money."

"Yes, yes, no matter the cost, you must save our daughter," the baby''s grandmothers urged the doctor desperately.

As the family members were all talking at once, the delivery room door opened again. A nurse walked out, her eyes filled with sympathy as she looked at them.

The baby''s grandmothers watched with anxious eyes, while the grandfathers paced nervously. The father, still holding his newborn son, kept his gaze fixed on the delivery room door, waiting for his wife toe out so they could go home together.

"We couldn''t save her. She just passed away," the nurse said.

The incidence of amniotic fluid embolism is very low, but the mortality rate is extremely high. From onset to death, it had only been a matter of ten-odd minutes.

The maternity hospital was one of the top in stra, with state-of-the-art equipment and many leading doctors in the field. They had done everything possible to save the patient.

But the condition had progressed too quickly to make matters worse, she had a Rh-negative. Even the hospitals, blood bank had a limited supply and there wasn''t enough time to get more from other hospitals. Before the blood could even arrive, the new mother had already died.

Standing outside the delivery room, the family listened to the nurse''s words, first with disbelief, and then, one by one, the older rtives began to weep.

The woman''s parents'' cries were heart-wrenching. “My daughter! Oh, my daughter!" they wailed.

Her inws wiped away tears, unable to believe their daughter-inw was gone just like that. She was so young, and the baby was so small.

The husband was still holding their newborn baby, all the joy from the birthpletely gone. He seemed to have frozen, standing motionless with the child in his arms.

Just as the family was consumed by grief, the hospital''s administrator walked over, apanied by avishly dressed middle-aged woman.

The woman craned her neck, instinctively trying to peer into the delivery room, then asked, “Are you sure this woman is a potential kidney match for my daughter?"

"The patient''s blood type is the same as your daughter''s. As for whether it''s a match, that will require further testing," the administrator replied.

Mrs. Walker nodded. "Fine, then do the tests."

Ynda''s kidney function had started to decline. Although treatment had stabilized her

condition, it was affecting her health and quality of life, and she was constant risk ofplete renal failure.

Ynda had be a recluse, spiraling into fits of rage and tears, obsessed with finding a matching donor.
