Chapter 866

"Good morning, Mrs. Thompson. I made that breakfast bowl you like, along with

some fresh sandwiches," Gina said, before adding, "Is Mr. Thompson here? Should I set a ce for him?"

"He''s not home, and you know it. Why pretend to ask?" Cynthia said, sitting down at the table and fixing Gina with a cold stare.

"Mr. Thompson went out? I''m sorry, ma''am, I really didn''t know," Gina said, feigning innocence.

Cynthia chuckled. "How could you not know? Wasn''t it you who tipped off the White family so he''d be called away?"

“Ma''am, what are you talking about? I don''t understand," Gina said, ying dumb.

Cynthia didn''t waste any more words. She simply pulled out her phone and yed the security footage.

The video clearly showed Gina repeatedly loitering outside Cynthia and Noah''s bedroom door, then furtively pulling out her phone to make a call.

“I never thought hiring a housekeeper would mean hiring a spy. Gina, you''re wasted on cooking. You should be working for an intelligence agency," Cynthia sneered.

It was too much of a coincidence that Nic got sick every time she and Noah were intimate. It happened once, twice, but every single time? That had to be deliberate.

And how would the White family know about her and Noah''s private moments with such perfect timing? They must have had a spy in the house.

Cynthia had a pinhole camera installed near the master bedroom door, and sure enough, she caught Gina eavesdropping.

Cynthia asked, "I''m really curious. What did the White family offer you to make you so dedicated?"

Gina replied, "Ms. White is very generous."

With that, Gina took off her apron and tossed it onto a nearby chair. Now that she''d been caught, she knew she couldn''t stay.

But Karina had given her a hundred thousand dors. That was more than she could earn in several years, and it was enough for her son''s down payment on a house.

"I can''t work here anymore, so I''ll just leave now."

Gina started to walk away nonchntly, but Cynthia''s voice stopped her.

Perhaps because Cynthia always seemed so good-natured, they had mistaken her for a pushover.

But anyone who could not only survive but thrive in the dog-eat-dog world of showbiz was nomb.

"You think you can just quit and walk away?" Cynthia scoffed.

"What else do you want? Fine, I won''t take this month''s sry," Gina said dismissively, still not realizing she had messed with the wrong person.

"You took a hundred thousand dors from Karina to help your son buy a ce, right? He''s a bright kid getting into that top tech firm on his own merit. Such a shame he was fired this morning. And your husband, the taxi driver?

    probably dont

    You

    know yet but he

didn''te homest night. He was arrested for a DUI. After fifteen days in jail, his driver''s license will be permanently revoked."

Cynthia delivered the news in a calm, unhurried tone.

"What..... you''re bluffing. You''re just trying to scare me,” Gina stammered, fumbling for her phone to call her son and husband.

Her husband''s phone was unreachable—of course it was, he was in custody.

Her son''s call went through. He had just been fired and was screaming into the phone in a rage.

After hanging up, Gina''s face went pale. The world spun around her.

It was only then that she finally understood. A wealthy woman like Cynthia, who lived in a multi-million dor mansion, was not someone a person like her could ever afford to cross.

"Ma''am, I was wrong, I was so wrong. Please, forgive me this one time," Gina cried, tears streaming down her face as she dropped to her knees in front of Cynthia.
