Chapter 857

"Yes, yes, of course. Don''t you worry, I''ll figure something out right away," Eden replied quickly.

He wasn''t just trying to cate his grandmother; his eyes were dark with malice as he schemed for a way to get rid of that baby in Yvonne''s womb.

But before Eden coulde up with a concrete n, the hospital room door was pushed open. Two men in uniform walked in and headed straight for him.

"Who are you? Who let you in here?" Eden snapped, his tone hostile upon seeing the police officers.

"You''re Eden Thompson, correct? We''re from the Municipal Police Department. We need you toe with us to assist with an investigation," one of the officers stated.

"Your case has nothing to do with me! Get out of here now! My grandmother is in poor health. If you frighten her, can you take responsibility for what happens?"

    Eden roared at them.

The two officers hade to the hospital to make an arrest and were trying to be mindful of the other patients, so they had initially been polite with Eden. But since he was being uncooperative, they dropped the courtesy.

One officer produced an arrest warrant. "Mr. Thompson, you''re under arrest. Pleasee with us."

The sight of the warrant made Eden realize the gravity of the situation. He finally stood up from the bedside, his eyes cold. "On what grounds? I''ve already posted bail."

"You were released on bail, not acquitted," the officer replied curtly, grabbing Eden''s arm and snapping a handcuff on his wrist.

Ynda, who had been sitting nearby, was stunned to see Eden being arrested. Unsure of what was happening, she didn''t dare to intervene.

In contrast, Mrs. Thompson Sr. became hysterical when she saw her grandson being arrested. She scrambled out of bed and started wing at the officers, making

    a scene.

"Let go of my grandson! How dare you arrest him! I''ll kill you!"

"Ma''am, you''re obstructing justice. We can arrest you too." The officers couldn''t get physical with a frail old woman who looked like she could drop dead at any moment so they resorted to threats.

But Mrs. Thompson Sr.''s condition was truly dire. The officers hadn''t even touched her, yet she began gasping for air, her eyes rolled back, and she copsed, unconscious.

"Grandma!" Eden cried out in panic, yelling for a doctor.

Medical staff rushed in and wheeled Mrs. Thompson Sr. into the emergency room.

As Eden tried to follow, the two officers blocked his path.

"Mr. Thompson, you need toe with us to the station."

Eden exploded in fury, shouting defiantly at the officers, "How dare you arrest me! Do you have any idea who my father is?"

"And who''s that? Don''t tell me you forgot," the younger of the two officers shot back, his tone dripping with sarcasm. This guy was a criminal about to be sentenced, and he still had the audacity to act so high and mighty.

"I don''t care if yourst name is the President''s," the officer shot back, before forcibly shoving Eden into the back of the police car. “Nobody is above thew." With Eden arrested, Ynda immediately went back to her parents'' home. When Vincent and Mrs. Walker heard the news, their expressions turned grim. Mrs. Walker said, "But wasn''t he out on bail? Why was he arrested again?"

Vincent replied, "Frank only posted his bail. The Municipal Police are taking this case very seriously and have been digging deeper. We''re lucky the investigation has led to us

"So what do we do now?" Mrs. Walker asked, her worried gaze shifting between Ynda and her pregnant belly.
