Chapter 849

"Bet, the wedding''s over. Can we leave now?" Karina asked.

The Whites had tried to ruin the Thompson-Scott wedding, but not only did they fail, they also ended up locked away for hours. It was certainly a humiliating experience.

"Leave?" Bet exhaled a cloud of smoke, his smile cold. "You think the Thompsons'' territory is a ce you can juste and go as you please?"

"Bet, you''ve already locked up my parents for hours. We''re willing to let it go, what more do you want!" Karina snapped.

In all her years married to Noah, Karina had lived a pampered life as Mrs. Thompson. Out of respect for his brother, Bet had always been reasonably polite to his ex-sister-inw.

Having never witnessed the full extent of Bet Thompson''s methods, she naturally felt no fear.

Bet didn''t waste his breath arguing with her. He flicked the ash from his cigarette and waved his hand.

The bodyguards beside him understood instantly. They dragged Mr. White aside, and without a word, two of them began raining down punches and kicks.

It was likely the first time Mr. White had ever been beaten. He curled up on the floor under the blows of the well-built bodyguards, howling in pain.

    "Robert!"

    "Stop! Stop hitting him!"

    "Dad!"

"What are you doing? Stop it, I said! Didn''t you hear me!"

Mrs. White and her daughter Karina screamed in a panic.

But two towering bodyguards blocked their path, making it impossible for them to get near Mr. White.

After a while, the two bodyguards stopped. Mr. White wasn''t getting any younger and had underlying health issues, so they couldn''t go too far. It wouldn''t do to identally kill him.

The bodyguards had held back, but Mr. White clearly couldn''t take a beating hey curled on the ground motionless. If not for the shallow breaths he was taking, one might have thought he was dead.

Bet stood up, walked over to Mr. White, and looked down at him.

Perhaps it was his overpowering presence, but Mr. White managed a slight movement and looked up at him.

Bet stared back, his dark eyes unsettlingly calm—a bottomless abyss of cold intent.

Mr. White''s body trembled uncontrobly. The next moment, he saw Bet''s long leg move, and his leather shoe came down squarely on the back of Mr. White''s hand.

Bet seemed to apply no pressure at all, yet Mr. White''s face twisted and flushed as he let out a piercing scream. "Aaargh!"

Mr. White screamed until his voice was hoarse. Only when his face had turned ashen with pain and his whole body was soaked in sweat did Bet finally lift his foot

"Who gave you the nerve to use a Thompson child as a pawn? If you still don''t know

your ce, I have no problem teaching you a lesson."

After speaking, Bet turned to the head of his security detail.

"Send them back to the White estate. And assign two men to Nic for close

protection. If so much as a single hair on her head is harmed..."

Bet didn''t finish his sentence, but his meaning was perfectly clear. If anything happened to Nic, the Whites would face severe consequences.

Mr. White was a wreck, battered and in pain.

Losing control, Karina shoved past the bodyguard blocking her and rushed to Mr. White''s side.

"Dad! Dad, how are you?" Seeing her father''s battered state, she lost herposure and pointed a finger at Bet, screaming.

“Bet, you''ve gone too far! If anything happens to my father, I''ll never let you get away with this!"
