Chapter 838

Bet had been busy at the base recently, so they had been apart for a while. When he came homest night, they naturally wanted to be intimate.

But as luck would have it, Yvonne got her period, so they had to find an alternative way to express their affection.

They had gone to bedte, and by the time they were done, Yvonne''s hand was indeed sore.

She hadn''t expected Bet to bring it up first thing in the morning. She shot him a shy re and instinctively nced toward the kitchen.

Helen was busy at the stove, not paying them any mind.

Only Bullet, sitting at Yvonne''s feet, was looking up at them with wide, innocent puppy eyes.

Yvonne reached down to pat Bullet''srge head, then went back to eating her porridge.

After breakfast, Bet and Yvonne changed and headed out.

They didn''t go directly to the wedding venue.

The Thompson family had to first go to the Scott''s home to pick up the bride, then to the couple''s new house. The whole procession would take hours, and the banquet wouldn''t start until noon.

Since Bet was already married, he couldn''t be Noah''s best man. He and Yvonne just needed to be at the reception hall, so they had plenty of time.

Bet drove them to a high-end boutique first.

The outfits had been arranged in advance. Bet''s was a vintage-style suit in deep blue, while Yvonne had chosen a dress.

The dress was understated in both color and style. After all, it was the wedding of the main branch of the Thompson family; they couldn''t steal the spotlight.

Though simple, the dress was elegant and dignified, and Yvonne looked beautiful in it.

"It''s still not as nice as the one Mr. Cooper made," Yvonne couldn''t help but remark as she stood before the full-length mirror.

"Mr. Cooper left a dress for you, didn''t he? Want to wear it?" Bet, now also changed into his suit, walked over with a smile.

The dress Mr. Cooper had designed for Yvonne was essentially a wedding gown. Bet was indirectly asking when she wanted to have their own wedding ceremony.

Though legally married, they stillcked a formal celebration. Without a wedding, their marriage remained a secret.

Yvonne understood his meaning. She smiled and replied casually, "I''ll think about it."

Bet didn''t press the issue, instead standing beside her. The mirror reflected the two of them, side by side.

In his vintage suit, Bet looked like a handsome prince straight out of a fairy tale. It was a different look from his military uniform, but he was breathtaking either way.

"We look good together, don''t we?" Yvonne smiled, tilting her head up to look at him.

Bet''s lips curved into a slight smile as he reached out and gently tousled her

    hair.

They left the boutique and arrived at the hotel''s banquet hall just in time. The bridal convoy had just pulled up, and the ceremony hadn''t yet begun.

Yvonne entered the hall on Bet''s arm.

The heir of the Thompson family was always the center of attention, no matter where he went.

    However, today was Noah''s

wedding, and Bet tried to keep a

low profile. After exchanging a few

pleasantries with acquaintances t? led Yvonne to the Thompson family''s table.

Almost no one from the Thompson family was absent for the eldest grandson''s wedding. The only exception, of course, was Mrs. Thompson Sr., who was clinging to life.

Mr. Thompson Sr., Tobias and Karina, and Frank and Emma were all there, seated at the head table.

“Grandfather, Uncle, Aunt, Dad, Mom,” Bet and Yvonne greeted the elders as they approached.

"Bet, you''re here. Have a seat.” Upon seeing Bet, Mr. Thompson Sr.''s usually stern face softened into a smile. Tobias was on his left and the seat to his night had been kept empty, clearly reserved for Bet.
