Chapter 834

After they finished fooling around in the bathroom, Yvonne felt her legs turn to jelly. Bet had to carry her out.

Her hair was still wet, and Bet sat on the edge of the bed, carefully drying it for her. Yvonne, wrapped in theforter, had already drifted off to sleep.

She slept soundly, but not for long. The next morning, she was back on set bright and early for makeup.

Yvonne fell back into the routine of filming. A monthter, she received another call from Jeffrey.

He had been careful not to disturb her. After Teresa''s ident, he had been juggling his job and taking care of their mother, shouldering all the responsibility himself.

For him to call her now meant one of two things: either Teresa had passed away and he was calling about the funeral, or she had woken up.

Yvonne hesitated for a moment before answering the phone.

"Yvonne, Mom''s awake. But she''s not in a good state. She''s hysterical and insists on seeing you. She keeps saying she dreamed you died, and she''s been crying uncontrobly... Can youe to the hospital and see her?"

Jeffrey''s voice, heavy with exhaustion, came through the phone.

Yvonne''s grip on her phone tightened, and her heart began to pound erratically.

She instinctively pressed a hand to her chest. It had been a long time since this had happened. The residual emotions of the body''s original owner were reacting again.

"Okay, I''lle over after I wrap for the night," Yvonne replied calmly before ending the call.

The shoot rante that day. By the time Yvonne arrived at the hospital, it was already dark.

Teresa was still in the same VIP room, but this time, none of the James family members were there. The room was quiet.

The James family had always been opportunistic, their eyes fixed on personal gain, with no room for genuine affection.

They had all gathered at the hospitalst time because they knew Yvonne would show up.

Jerome and his wife wanted to use Yvonne as a stepping stone for their daughter, Caroline, to marry into the Thompson family.

Mr. James Sr. wanted to mend his rtionship with Yvonne, hoping to use her totch onto the Thompsons'' influence.

But Yvonne had never felt a deep connection even to Teresa, let alone the rest of the James n.

Seeing there was nothing to gain, the family had naturally lost interest in Teresa''s fate. They probably wouldn''t show up again until her funeral.

Yvonne walked into the room and saw Teresa sitting up in bed. She was awake, but her face was pale.

In less than a month, Teresa had lost a significant amount of weight. She no longer looked like the pampered wealthy woman she once was. Now, she just looked fragile and broken.

"Yvonne, Yvonne! Is it really you?" Teresa became extremely agitated the moment she saw her.

She struggled to get out of bed and pulled Yvonne into a tight, emotional hug.

Yvonne felt herself being squeezed so hard she could barely breathe and instinctively pushed Teresa away.

    Even after being pushed back,

Teresa clung to Yvonne''s hand, her

    velet

eyes fixed on her face as she

    sobbed Yvonne on Yvonne you

    alive. Thank God you''re alive."

Jeffrey, standing to the side, looked on with a pained expression.

Although his mother was awake, her mind seemed to be gone. She kept insisting

    that Yvonne was dead.

"Mom, you were in aa for a long

time. Your mind is still foggy.

Yvonne has been fine this whole

time. Stop talking about her being

    dead. It''s bad luck."

Teresa ignored him, her grip on Yvonne''s hand remaining tight as she cried breathlessly.
