Chapter 808

Bet''s hand paused as he was cutting his steak. He looked up at Yvonne and asked, half-joking and half-serious, "Are you trying to give me a heads-up?"

“I''m just afraid you''ll get all jealous again,” Yvonne said, resting her forehead in her hand. “I was reading my scriptst night, and there was a line that said: ''If I had wanted to be with him, you never would have had a chance.'' Sounds pretty ruthless, right? But it''s kind of true, isn''t it?"

Bet didn''t know whether tough or cry. "Maybe you should spend a little less time reading your scripts."

"Right, right, right," Yvonne nodded vigorously. She speared a piece of steak with her fork, fed it to him, and then gave him a ridiculously sycophantic grin.

Bet reached out and gently stroked her hair, his eyes soft and adoring.

Truthfully, he wasn''t angry. He could never be angry with Yvonne. It was just that seeing Thomas constantly hovering around her was incredibly irritating.

"So, you''re filming a modern drama this time?" Bet asked casually, continuing to patiently cut his steak.

"Mhm, a lighthearted romance. It''s a pretty popr genre these days," Yvonne replied.

"No kissing scenes, or bed scenes, or any of that nonsense, right?" he pressed. "This is a respectable production. Absolutely no bed scenes, and the few kissing scenes are all done with clever camera angles," Yvonne assured him.

Sigh. Having such a jealous man in her life could be a real headache sometimes. Bet finished cutting another te of steak and passed it to her.

Yvonne shook her head. "I can''t eat too much. I have to watch my diet while filming."

Bet didn''t push it and began to eat slowly and deliberately himself.

After they finished dinner, they left the private room.

Bet went to pay the bill while Yvonne went to the restroom.

When she came out, she was surprised to run into Cynthia.

Cynthia seemed equally surprised to see her. "Yvonne, what a coincidence."

"Ms. Scott," Yvonne nodded politely. This time, it really had to be a coincidence.

"Are you here by yourself? We''re

having a ss reunion. Why don''t

"I''m here with Bet, and we''ve already eaten. I wouldn''t want to interrupt, Ms. Scott," Yvonne politely declined.

"Alright, then. I won''t keep you

    your date. See you tomorrow,"

Cynthia said before turning and walking on her high heels toward private room at the end of the hall.

Yvonne left the restroom area and went to find Bet at the cashier''s desk.

He had already paid and was waiting for her.

"I just ran into Cynthia," Yvonne said as she walked up to him.

Bet nodded, clearly already aware. "They''re having a ss reunion. It''s quite a coincidence they chose this ce too."

"Noah and Cynthia were ssmates, right? Is he here too?" Yvonne asked.

    "He should be."

"Cynthia really is everywhere," Yvonne remarked.

“Noah and Karina are getting a divorce soon," Bet said.

"Does it have to do with Cynthia?" Yvonne asked, stunned.

Bet nodded. "Cynthia had someone lure Karina''s brother into an underground casino. He racked up two hundred million in gambling debts and got involved with loan sharks. The collectors game knocking, and it even got my grandfather''s attention. The Thompson family won''t tolerate inws who do nothing but cause trouble, so they ordered Noah to end things with Karina. Their rtionship wasn''t that deep to begin with, so he agreed."
