Bet led Yvonne to greet the Thompson family elders.


    Mr. Thompson Sr. and Bet''s uncle were both high-ranking military officers, so it wasn''t appropriate for them to attend such amercial banquet. Neither was

    However, Bet''s aunt, Dana, along with Noah and his wife, and of course, Frank and Emma, were all there.


    Bet formally introduced Yvonne to his family once more.


    "Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Thompson," Yvonne said politely, greeting Frank and Emma.


    "Dear, you and Bet are already married. You shouldn''t be calling us Mr. and Mrs. Thompson. It''s time to call us Mom and Dad," Dana corrected with a smile.


    Frank nodded with a smile, clearly in agreement. Emma remained silent, looking as if she had long since resigned herself to the situation. Since Bet wouldn''t marry anyone but Yvonne, her objections as his mother were futile, and she had no choice but to ept it.


    "Mom, Dad," Yvonne called out, a little shyly.


    Frank was delighted and immediately handed Yvonne an unlimited ck card as a weing gift for officially joining the family.


    “Aunt Dana, Karina," Yvonne said, greeting them with equal courtesy.


    Dana smiled, took Yvonne''s hand, and slid a jade bracelet onto her wrist. It was a violet jade bracelet; though the color didn''t quite reach the level of imperial violet, its quality and luster were excellent and quite rare on the market.


    "Aunt Dana, this is too valuable," Yvonne said, instinctively trying to refuse.


    Since that branch of the Thompson family wasn''t involved in business, this bracelet was an incredibly generous gift from Dana.


    "You must never refuse a gift from an elder. Just wear it and enjoy it. A jade bracelet of this color looks best on youngdies like you."


    Dana''s smile was full of affection.


    Yvonne subconsciously nced at Bet, and only after he nodded did she dare to ept it. "Thank you, Aunt Dana."


    "We''re all family, no need for thank yous," Dana said, then shot a pointed look at her own daughter-inw. "Isn''t that right, Karina?"


    "You''re right," Karina replied coolly.


    Dana was seething but couldn''t lose her temper in public. She forced a strained smile.


    Bet was the most promising of his generation in the Thompson family, and his future achievements were expected to rival those of Mr. Thompson Sr. himself.


    Moreover, Bet was the designated heir to the Thompson Group, which meant Noah''s work there was essentially for Bet''s benefit.


    Bet treated them like family, calling her Aunt Dana and Karina his sister-inw, yet Karina couldn''t seem to grasp her own position and


    still put on airs as a semor Mrs. Thompson.


    Yvonne might be young, but as Bet''s wife, she was the future matriarch of the Thompson family Their branch of the family could only hope to stay in her good graces.
