By now, the actors who had auditioned had all trickled out of the theater.
York left as well. Cynthia was thest one to leave, holding a script with her assistant trailing behind her.
Cynthia was giving instructions to her assistant as she descended the steps of the theater, and only then did she notice Yvonne standing there.
Yvonne was wearing a white blouse and a skirt, really stunning. The gentle breeze lifted strands of her long hair, giving her an ethereal air.
When Yvonne saw Cynthia approaching, she offered a smile.
"Are you waiting for me, Ms. Jones?" Cynthia asked, pausing.
"I wanted to thank you for giving me a second chance," Yvonne said sincerely.
York''s auditions were notoriously swift, and he never gave actors a second try. The opportunity to audition for the female lead had been given to her by Cynthia.
She knew that Cynthia had helped her today.
Yvonne didn''t know why Cynthia had done it—perhaps on a whim, or perhaps for some other reason. But she had received help, and it was only right to express her gratitude.
"I just said a few words; it didn''t help you much. The most important thing is that you earned it yourself. However, the role isn''t necessarily yours yet. Anything can happen. Don''t thank me too soon, and don''t get your hopes up, youngdy."
After her calm remarks, Cynthia left with her assistant.
Just after Cynthia departed, Sandra''s car pulled up.
"Get in, you can''t park here," Sandra said, leaning over to roll down the passenger window.
Yvonne quickly got into the front seat.
"Seatbelt," Sandra reminded her as she turned the steering wheel.
The car merged smoothly into the main road.
With a steady grip on the wheel, Sandra asked, "I saw you talking to Cynthia at the theater entrance just now."
"Mm-hmm," Yvonne confirmed.
"During the audition, if she hadn''t
spoken up for me, I never would I
have had the chance to would get
female lead," Yvonne exined.
the
Sandra nodded, then asked with a hint of curiosity, "Cynthia is known for being
aloof. Why would she speak up for you? Are you close?"
"Not at all. We only met once at the Scott family''s party."
"Cynthia is Noah''s ex-girlfriend, and you''re Bet''s current one," Sandra mused.
"Could she be trying to get on your good side?"
"Get on my good side?" Yvonne was confused.
"Cynthia has been single all these years. Maybe she''s still hung up on Noah?"
"But Noah is married with a child."
"Noah''s marriage might not be rock-solid. And don''t underestimate the power of a first love."
Yvonne sighed and pressed her fingers to her temples, a headache forming. "I hope there''s no more drama in the Thompson family."
"Whether there''s drama or not isn''t up to you, nor is it your problem," Sandra said, turning the car at an intersection heading back toward thepany office.
As she drove, she continued, "I watched everyone''s auditions. I''d Say the female fe role is pretty
much in the bag for you. Of course,
in the entertainment world, nothing is certain until the very end."
"Well, all we can do is wait for the production team''s announcement," Yvonne sighed.
The announcement from the production team was sent to the various talent agencies a weekter.
The official website for ''The Cyan Fox'' simultaneously announced the full cast list.
