As the door clicked shut, Yvonne had already pushed Bet away.
Her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment. Bet, however, sat up slowly, lookingpletely unfazed.
A man who could face andslide without flinching wasn''t going to be rattled by a junior assistant. Only Yvonne could truly affect his emotions.
"I have an early shoot tomorrow, so I need to get some rest. You should go home," Yvonne told Bet.
"Alright," Bet agreed. He got up from the bed but didn''t leave immediately. Instead, he pulled Yvonne into his arms, gave her a firm kiss, and then walked out.
When Bet left the bedroom, the assistant was holding a box, ready to leave. It was filled with items that might spark controversy; today''sizens were hypercritical, and public figures had to be extremely careful.
"Mr. Bet Thompson." Seeing Bet in person, the assistant was so nervous she could barely speak.
"Hello," Bet said. He wasn''t smiling, but he was approachable.
"Aren''t you staying with Yvonne?" the assistant asked.
"She has a shoot tomorrow and needs to rest early. I don''t want to disturb her." Bet was already at the doorway. Out of politeness, he asked, "Where are you headed? I can have my driver take you."
"No, no, that''s okay! I drove here. Please don''t trouble yourself," the assistant said, waving her hands.
Bet had only asked out of courtesy. If she had actually dared to get into Mr. Thompson''s car, she would have been incredibly tactless.
Bet said no more and left, closing the door behind him.
After Bet and the assistant left, Yvonne took a shower and went to bed early.
She slept fairly well, only to be woken up early the next morning.
Her assistant arrived with a team of makeup artists.
The makeup artists began working on Yvonne''s makeup and hair while the assistant helped her pack her luggage.
