Vanessa continued, "The Thompson heir can''t stand us, and now even a dog he keeps can take a bite out of us. Andy is so young, and he has to get dragged into this..."
Eden''s face was grim, his cold eyes fixed on Yvonne. "Miss, I don''t care who your sugar daddy is, but you hurt an innocent child. I suggest you apologize to him right now."
Ynda''s expression was just as cold. She had always believed that Yvonne''s interference and seduction were the reasons Bet had broken up with her.
Consequently, Ynda saw Yvonne as a thorn in her side and had no intention of letting this opportunity to target her slip away.
"Ms. Jones. If you don''t apologize to Vanessa and her son, we won''t let this matter rest. You wouldn''t want this to blow up and embarrass you, would you?"
"You''re a public figure. A scandal wouldn''t do you any good. No matter how much Bet and Vanessa don''t get along, they are still half-siblings. You''re just a toy he keeps for entertainment, so don''t get ahead of yourself. If you get into trouble, he might not even bother to protect you."
Yvonne looked at the group in front of her and found it all rather amusing.
No wonder a child as young as Andy was already a master of ying the victim; it clearly ran in the family.
Vanessa could change her tune faster than one could flip a page, immediately turning the tables.
Eden didn''t even bother to get both sides of the story before passing judgment. What gave them the confidence to think they could do whatever they wanted? Or perhaps there was something wrong with Carol''s genes, because both of her children seemed to becking in the brains department.
"An apology is indeed necessary," Yvonne agreed with a nod. "This brat was running wild in the banquet hall, crashing into people. He not only bumped into me but also nearly knocked over Mrs. Cooper, who is pregnant. A sincere apology is certainly in order..."
"Ms. Jones, you''re quite skilled at twisting the truth," Eden interrupted before she could finish.
"The truth can''t be twisted by
anyone who wishes it so," Yvonne said righteously. "There are plenty of eyes in this hall that saw what
happened if Mr Monroe feels we
can''t sort this out, we can always involve the police. I''m sure they can get to the bottom of it."
As themotion grew louder, Cynthia, who had been attending to her guests, was alerted and hurried over.
Cynthia asked Mrs. Cooper what had happened and quickly grasped the situation. It was a bit of a headache.
It was such a trivial matter, yet the Monroe siblings were determined to make a scene. How utterly foolish.
"My apologies, everyone. It seems the Scott family has been a poor host today," Cynthia said with a gentle smile.
As soon as she spoke, Yvonne knew that Cynthia wanted to de-escte the situation.
It was understandable. Today''s banquet was being held specifically for Cynthia to announce her official return.
Naturally, she wouldn''t want her own party to be marred by a scene that would turn her into aughingstock.
Yvonne decided to show Cynthia some respect. After all, it was just a mess caused by a misbehaving child, and since no one was hurt, it wasn''t a big deal.
But Vanessa, still fuming from Yvonne''s earlier humiliation, was relentless and insisted that Yvonne apologize.
Yvonne was so exasperated she almostughed.
"Ms. Scott there should be security cameras in the banquet hall, right? Could you please pull up the footage and y it for everyone here to see?" Wonne said to Cynthia.
Cynthia hesitated.
If she pulled up the security footage now and it proyed that Vanessa''s son was an ill mannered brat who had been running amok, it would be the same as publicly shaming Vanessa.
