Bet held her on hisp but made no further moves. He simply reached out and gently ced his hand on her forehead.
Yvonne''s forehead was cool to the touch; the fever hadpletely broken.
Her dark eyes sparkled as she looked at him, though her face still held a trace of sickliness.
"The fever''s gone. Are you still feeling unwell?" Bet asked softly.
Yvonne shook her head. "I''m not unwell, just a little weak."
"Right. You''ll be fine after a few days of rest," Bet said, then lifted her back onto the bed.
The doctor came for his morning rounds and then informed them they could be discharged today.
Sandra only found out Yvonne was sick right before she was about to be discharged.
Sandra was abroad filming a variety show with a new actor from herpany and couldn''t rush back. She could only call and remind Yvonne to take good care of herself.
When Yvonne told her that Bet was looking after her, Sandra was relieved.
Yvonne had one more IV drip in the morning. After it was finished, Bet handled the discharge paperwork for her.
Yvonne changed out of her hospital gown, wrapped herself in a thick, long down jacket, and left the hospital with Bet.
As they stepped out of the hospital entrance, they discovered that fine snowkes were drifting down from the sky.
A lightyer of white already covered the ground.
Bet put his arm around Yvonne, frowning instinctively. He regretted not bringing the car over first.
"Wait here for a moment. I''ll go get the car," Bet said.
The car was parked in the lot across from the hospital, which was a bit of a walk. With the wind and snow outside now, Yvonne could easily catch a chill again.
Having just been discharged, Yvonne didn''t try to be brave and nodded obediently. She waited for Bet on the hospital steps.
With carsing and going and people constantly entering and leaving the hospital, she didn''t notice Ynda and her mother getting out of a car.
But Ynda recognized Yvonne at a nce.
Even though Yvonne was bundled up in a thick down jacket like a burrito and wearing arge face mask, her beautiful and captivating fox-like eyes were still very recognizable.
Ynda instinctively stopped, standing by the car and watching Yvonne.
Yvonne stood on the steps, asionally kicking at the snow on the ground, looking innocent and charming.
A short whileter, the ck Mercedes G-Wagen pulled up.
Bet got out of the car and walked over to Yvonne. They exchanged a few words, and Bet''s gaze on her was gentle.
The next moment, he scooped her up in his arms, carried her to the car, and then the car drove away.
"What are you looking at? It''s freezing out here. Hurry up and get inside instead of daydreaming," Mrs. Walker said as she also got out of the car.
She was only wearing an elegant and stylish cashmere coat and shivered uncontrobly from the cold. She took Ynda''s arm, and they walked quickly into the hospital.
Ynda had an appointment in the internal medicine department.
Previously, her treatments were all
handled at the Rogers family''s hospital, where the best medical resources were practically at her service After the fall of the Rogers family, Vnda had to change doctors.
Although her new doctor was also a top specialist in the country and was very attentive to her as the youngdy of the Walker family, Ynda always felt
something was missing.
Ynda underwent aprehensive physical examination as scheduled by her doctor.
It was a routine check-up, once a year. After all, she was living with someone else''s kidney, and there were always some rejection issues that required regr medication and check-ups.
"Ms. Walker''s current physical
condition is good. Her kidney function is also very healthy.
However, Ms Walker is no lopet
young, and as she ages, her kidney function will inevitably decline. If Ms. Walker has ns for marriage and children, it is best to do so soon, while the kidney can still handle it."
