Maxwell Griffith let out a coldugh that sent a chill down her spine. “Joanna, my father has been lying low here for many years. He has his methods. What are you afraid of? Let''s just wait for his good news."
A sh of anger crossed Joanna''s eyes. The thought of Maxwell''s useless father made her even angrier. "What good news could your father possibly have? All he knows is how to chase women. He was evente for something as important as today. What do you expect from him?"
That old bastard Maxwell was truly despicable.
The thought of that son of a bitch Timothy just made her furious.
Relying on that old bastard was less reliable than relying on herself.
Maxwell frowned. "You don''t need to worry about it. You don''t know what my father does, and neither do I, but I know it''s very secretive. The people behind my father are extremely powerful."
"There are a lot of secrets we don''t know, but I can tell you this: there is absolutely no way Natalie can win."
Maxwell''s gaze was doting as he gently pinched her cheek.
His affectionate gesture made Joanna feel a little better.
But today had been too humiliating, too disgraceful.
Joanna caught the deeper meaning in his words. She suddenly grabbed Maxwell''s arm and asked, "Maxwell, you said there are other people behind Mr. Griffith. What does that mean?"
"Yes! Joanna, you can''t tell anyone about this. Behind my father is a massive organization. They''ve been looking for a breakthrough to take theirpany public for years. The investors behind him are incredibly wealthy. Just remember that. You''ll have all the money you want."
Maxwell''s words instantly put Joanna at ease.
Her anger subsided. She looked at Maxwell with a cold glint in her eyes. "Maxwell, we absolutely cannot let Natalie''s new product go to market. As long as her product fails tounch, she''ll be kicked out, and the Griffith Group will still be ours."
"Maxwell, I was too hasty just now. I know we need to be patient with everything."
Maxwell looked at her charming face. When she was calm, she was a very intelligent woman. She had a team of elites behind her who managed herpany very well.
In these aspects, she had always excelled.
After not seeing her for over a year, her personality had be much moreposed.
"Joanna, I know you feel wronged,
but don''t worry. Just
a little
ет
A murderous glint shed in his eyes. "We got rid of Sebastian, and we can get rid of Natalie, too. I''ll deal
with her before she finds out who I am."
Joanna was thrilled to hear this.
She took a deep breath and called for Horace toe in.
"Miss, Mr. Griffith." Horace entered and greeted them respectfully.
The two of them were finally together.
Horace had been waiting for this day for years.
He was more relieved than anyone.
Joanna asked, "Horace, where''s Colin? Why haven''t I seen him these past few days?"
Horace frowned. "He hasn''t been to thepany in days, and he hasn''t
called me. I''ve called him, but he doesn''t answer I don''t know where he''s gone."
Joanna''s brow furrowed. Could he be at the hospital with Jerome for his surgery?
Joanna thought for a moment. Even if Jerome''s leg was fixed, he was still useless.
"Hmph! Useless. He said he''d be by my side to help me, but he just ran off."
Joanna thought for a moment, then looked at Horace. “Horace, go find him. See where he went."
Colin was still useful. She would use Colin to kill Natalie.
A betrayal at the hands of her own flesh and blood... that would be the final blow to break Natalie.
