Chapter 940

"Unfortunately for her, Joanna is too arrogant. She looks down on me, which means she looks down on my medical skills. She never would have imagined that I could create an antidote."

Sebastian''s head snapped toward Natalie, his eyes wide with shock. She had known about Joanna and the housekeeper''s plot even back then.

And that night he left, Joanna had called him, iming she was being followed and was scared. He had abandoned Natalie to go to her.

Sebastian stared at her, his gaze intense. "Natalie, you knew back then. Why didn''t you tell me?"

His voice was a brewing storm.

Natalie met his gaze, her own calm eyes swirling with a tempest of their own. "What good would it have done? Would you have believed a word I said?"

"When I first found out Grandmother was being poisoned, I didn''t tell anyone but her. She was the one who had the cameras installed, which is how we recorded everything the housekeeper did."

"There are times you wouldn''t believe me even with evidence right in front of your face. So why would you have believed me then, when I had nothing to show you?"

Each question was a p across Sebastian''s face.

When it came to his grandmother, would he really have trusted Joanna so blindly?

A year ago, he would have believed Joanna without a second thought.

And he would have chosen to hurt Natalie.

Natalie turned her attention from Sebastian back to the housekeeper, her tone measured. “Housekeeper, we have all the evidence we need. There''s no point in denying it anymore."

    The housekeeper burst into tears.

She pleaded with the old madam, “Madam, please forgive me! I''m begging you, forgive me! I was wrong, I was truly wrong, Madam! Please let me go this one time. You''re fine now, aren''t you? The poison is gone. But my son, he''s still so young!"

The old madam smiled faintly. "Oh? And being young absolves him of his crimes? Housekeeper, you''ve been here for over a decade. You know exactly how I''ve treated you. Just because I''m alright now mo Supposed to forgive the person who tried to kill me?"

“Housekeeper, your son studiedw. I was the one who pulled strings to get him his

job. You may not know thew, but does he not know it either?"

“Besides, you called him every day, asking him how to destroy evidence. He knew everything you were doing."

    The housekeeper was speechless.

She copsed onto the floor, utterly defeated.

She watched the old madam smile, but she knew it was a smile of pure, unadulterated anger.

An old madam like this had already decided to destroy her entire family.

Sebastian waved his hand, signaling for the police to take the housekeeper away.

She was dragged out, crying and screaming.

Natalie watched it all with cold detachment. Once the housekeeper was gone, she asked, "Grandmother, are you okay?"

The old madam happily took her hand, her smile now full of genuine warmth. "Natalie, I''m fine. I thought you weren''ting until this afternoon. I''m fine, dear. I just had some of that new restorative broth,

and it''s wonderful. Remember to take some with you when you leave, alright?"

“Our Natalie must have the best of everything, eat the best food, and use the best

products, so her skin is radiant and she feels beautiful."

"Natalie, you''re still young. Don''t always think about sacrificing for others. You have to be good to yourself. We women have to be good to ourselves and think of ourselves first Besides you, po one else will ever truly have your best interests at heart."

"You''re just too kind, and that''s why those fools were able to bully you. Do you understand now?"
