“Sean is awake, but he still has a fever. That kid is pretty weak. You should get him to exercise more."
"Luna is healthier than he is. All her levels are normal, but he''s got a fatty liver."
Natalie raised an eyebrow and smiled at him. "Okay, Herbert. So where''s my breakfast?"
She was running on fumes, her stomach giving a treacherous growl that demanded her immediate attention.
Just as she thought, skipping one meal left her ravenous.
Herbert pulled arge breakfast burrito from his bag. "Here you go, your favorite. I kept it warm in my bag for you. It''s still hot."
Natalie looked at it with a hint of disdain. "Herbert, couldn''t you have put it in an insted container? Why was it in your pocket?"
"Hey, don''t look so disgusted. I was afraid it would get cold and not taste good. It''s made with rice, and if it got cold, it would be hard on your stomach."
"Besides, I just put on this clean coat today. Look at you, all picky."
Herbert smiled affectionately and tapped her on the forehead. He took an insted
sk from the nearby windowsill and poured her a cup of warm water.
"Drink some warm tea first; it''ll settle your stomach before you dive into that breakfast."
Natalie finally smiled and took the cup. After drinking the water, she started on the burrito.
It was delicious from the first bite.
"Herbert, you know me best. It''s got a fried egg, hash browns, and some peanuts. It''s so good."
"After all the time we spent together at the hospital, I know your habits inside and out. But you can''t eat this too often. Once a month is enough."
Natalie''s expression softened into a genuine smile. "Mmm, having you look after me is a luxury I could get used to."
"You just don''t listen, do you? And about that experiment you mentioned, I''ve already started recruiting students. There are a lot of grad students at the medical university who are interestedin joining our team I''ll be evaluating them for a while to find the right candidates, and you cane take a look. The medical school is really on board with your Al-assisted therapy idea. They''re just waiting for us to produce results and have even decided to allocate some funding to us."
Natalie thought for a moment. "Herbert, let''s talk about this after the new year. Let me rest until then."
"Okay. I just wanted to give you a heads-up so you can prepare. By the way, your brother and grandfather aren''ting back for the holidays this year. Why don''t you guyse to my ce? The holidays are just as few days away."
Herbert extended the warm invitation.
Natalie understood his kindness and politely declined with a smile. "Herbert, I''m spending the holidays with Luna and Keith this year You should spend the time with your family. Being a doctor is so demanding; you''re at the hospital almost 24/7." Content bétongs
"And when you get a girlfriend, you have to remember to spend more time with her.
A man who constantly neglects his partner doesn''t deserve her time."
Herbert saw her knowing expression and grinned. "I know, I know. If I had a woman
I loved, I''d be thinking about her 24/7."
He really did want to be in a rtionship.
Unfortunately, the little genius in front of him only saw him as a brother.
"Natalie, the woman I fall in love with will be the center of my world. Her kindness and gentleness will be my safe harbor. No matter what storms I face out there, just thinking of her will bring me peace."
Natalie saw the hopeful look in his eyes and smiled. “Herbert, I hope you find her soon."
She handed him the capsule for Susan. "Go on, take this to Susan."
