"Grandma called mest night. She wants us to spend New Year''s with her this year. Grandpa is abroad and can''te back. Are you really going to let an old woman spend the holiday alone?"
Natalie was confused. "Doesn''t Grandma have you? You can go home and spend it with her."
Sebastian frowned. He had never spent New Year''s with Natalie before. "We''re a married couple. Shouldn''t we spend New Year''s together?"
Natalie justughed and looked up at him. "That''s ridiculous. Even though we''re married, you always spent New Year''s with Joanna. Are you not spending it with her this year? If you don''t, she''ll just find a way to make my life miserable."
"She''ll keep at it until you go see her. So, to ensure I can have a peaceful holiday, it''s better if we celebrate separately. We''re supposed to be getting a divorce. If you hadn''t threatened me, I''d be out of the country by now."
Natalie''s good mood from the morning vanished, and her face turned pale.
She lowered her head and focused on eating her noodles.
Sebastian''s face was grim. It was always that woman, Joanna!
The shadow of that woman was constantly cast over their lives.
After breakfast, they went their separate ways on bad terms.
Sebastian didn''t know Natalie was participating in the fashion designpetition today.
But he was interested in attending suchpetitions, as hispany was always looking for talented individuals.
He left with Sean.
Natalie and Luna''s car also headed to thepetition venue.
Thepetition was held at a venue chosen by the Fashion Association: the Yaro Grand Hotel.
When she and Luna arrived, Joanna was also there with her team.
Joanna looked at Natalie, who was bundled up in a pink down jacket.
She let out a mockingugh. "Natalie, what kind of ce do you think this is? You actually wore a down jacket to apetition? As a fashion designer, you should lead by example and maintain your sense of style at all times."
Faced with Joanna''s ridicule, Natalie simply raised an eyebrow. "Joanna, what I wear is none of your business. You''re overstepping. You should worry more about yourself. With all the sleeping around you do, you should be more worried about your own health At this rate, you''ll be lucky if you don''t end up in a clinic with something permanent. Did your doctor tell you how much damage your ''lifestyle'' is actually doing?"
Joanna was speechless.
She nced at the people behind her, then raised her hand in a rage to strike Natalie.
But her hand was suddenly caught by a strong grip.
Joanna looked up sharply and was surprised to see Sebastian.
"Sebastian." He was here too.
Sebastian''s gaze was ice-cold as he stared at her. "Joanna, what the hell are you doing?"
She was actually trying to hit Natalie.
"Sebastian, it''s Natalie''s fault! She was ndering me, so I couldn''t help but want to teach her a lesson."
Natalie smiled faintly. "Joanna, your
reputation is already in the gutter.
Do you really need me to nder
you? Just look online. You and your
mothen are infamous internationally. Foreign tforms are filled with people cursing you both."
In her past life, she had gone through the same thing. But to protect Joanna, Sebastian had refused to acknowledge their marriage, and she had be the ''other woman'' everyone wanted to crucify.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she got, and her rage instantly shifted to Sebastian. "Oh please, Mr. Griffith. Cut the act. Do you know why I''m even here? It''s because your beloved secretly signed me up for this. That''s the only reason I showed up. Otherwise, just the sight of you two makes me sick."
With that, Natalie turned and walked into the venue with Luna.
