Chapter 846

Natalie knew she had heard enough.

She watched Mrs. Wilson tremble with grief, her sobs choked and silent. She guided Mrs. Wilson away, their steps natural and unnoticed.

The two people talking, their backs to them, had no idea they''d been there.

Back in the underground parking garage, it wasn''t until she was inside the car that Mrs. Wilson finally broke downpletely, sobbing uncontrobly.

Neither Natalie nor Luna tried tofort her. After something like this, a good, long cry was the best way to let it all out.

Evelyn Carrington had received a fine education, yet she didn''t seem to care in the slightest that her mother was gone.

The resentment she felt from being controlled had erased any affection she might have had for her.

Natalie knew just how shallow that affection was. But she also knew that Mrs. Wilson had poured all her time and energy into raising her two children.

Her failure was only because of Sophia''s secret interference. The stricter Mrs. Wilson became, the more Evelyn Carrington saw Sophia as a gentle, safe harbor.

A few minutester, Mrs. Wilson''s crying subsided, but her throat felt tight, as if choked with unshed grief. The pain was too immense for sound. She could only sit there numbly, letting the heartache wash over her.

The scene she had just witnessed in the mall reyed endlessly in her mind.

Natalie got in the car and told Luna to drive back to the hospital.

It wasn''t until she was back in her hospital room that the heavy, oppressive feeling in Mrs. Wilson''s chest finally began to ease.

She looked at Natalie with a grateful smile. "Natalie, thank you for taking me there. For letting me see my daughter''s true colors. After all these years, everything I did for her, the way I raised her... I have a clear conscience."

"From now on, we''ll go our separate ways. I''m going to love myself."

Natalie smiled. "Mrs. Wilson, when you learn to love yourself, you''ve already won."

Mrs. Wilson looked at her with a gentle, loving expression. One of them didn''t have a good daughter, and the other didn''t have a good mother.

"Natalie, I can see your mother is truly remorseful. Are you unwilling to forgive or Mrs Wilson had seen Wendy twice, and both times she

    was consumed with regret

Natalie replied with a smile, "Mrs. Wilson, the hurt I''ve experienced is simr to

yours. Can you forgive your daughter?"

Mrs. Wilson shook her head. "I will never forgive her. She''s an adult now. She chose this path, so she can walk it alone."

Mrs. Wilson understood then. Natalie would never forgive Wendy.

Natalie just smiled without saying anything more. She told Mrs. Wilson to get some rest and prepare for what was toe.

Mrs. Wilson first called her parents to let them know she was safe. She also had her father''swyer prepare the divorce papers. She had already gathered some evidence, and as soon as Sophia made her move, she wouldn''t hesitate to counter with everything she had.

After calming Mrs. Wilson down, Natalie and Luna returned to Sebastian''s vi.

To make work more convenient, Natalie arranged for Luna to stay in the small guesthouse out back, next door to Sean.

Natalie went inside to start dinner. When she entered, she saw that Sebastian wasn''t back yet.

She hadn''t told him when she left the hotel, so he didn''t know she was home.

She went upstairs to change into somefortable clothes, then came back down

to make dinner. Just as she reached the kitchen, she received a message from Sebastian.

[I''ll be home for dinner tonight.]

Natalie read it and her brows furrowed. How did he know she was home so quickly?

    Natalie continued preparing dinner.

    Evelyn Carrington was going to

make her move tomorrow morning, and she was looking forward to seeing just what kind of scheme she had nned.
