Natalie didn''t know what to say.


    "Thene in." Having breakfast together wasn''t out of the question.


    The corners of Sebastian''s lips turned up slightly.


    Natalie turned to go wash up. When she came out a few momentster, Sebastian had already unpacked the breakfast.


    After she sat down, he handed her a ss of warm milk. "Drink some milk first, then eat."


    "Thanks." Natalie liked milk and yogurt, and Sebastian seemed to know her preferences.


    Sebastian exined, "I''ll be staying here for a few days to survey the area. I''m in the room next to yours."


    Natalie nodded. So that was why.


    After drinking half the ss of milk, Natalie began to eat her braised beef noodle soup.


    Sebastian had noodles in a clear broth. He had a fried egg on top, and so did she, though hers was packed in a separate container so it wouldn''t make her soup too greasy.


    Natalie could tell at a nce that Sebastian had bought the breakfast himself.


    It suddenly urred to her, and the words tumbled out. "You bought this?"


    Sebastian replied, "I did."


    "How surprising." Natalie was genuinely taken aback. Sebastian had never paid any attention to her, and now he was buying her breakfast. How could she not be surprised?


    Sebastian raised an eyebrow at her. "What''s so surprising?"


    Natalie pointed at the beef noodle soup. "This is the kind of treatment only Joanna used to get. Now I''m getting it too. So, Mr. Griffith, what do you want me to do this time? Or are you hoping I''ll go apologize to your dear Joanna?"


    "Natalie, is that really what you think of me?"


    Seeing the anger on his face, Natalie was a little surprised. "Isn''t that how you''ve always been? Whenever you want me to do something, you make a small gesture first. Isn''t that your usual trick?"


    Sebastian was speechless. Looking back, he had always expected Natalie to apologize to Joanna, believing she was the one in the wrong.

    Natalie took a deep breath before speaking again. "Sebastian, don''t do things like this anymore. You need to understand that the person you love is Joanna. You think I''m stuffy, boring, and that I don''t know how to dress myself. I''d like to rify that."


    "I''m not stuffy and boring. I''m naturally lively and fun, but because you prefer quiet, I toned myself down."


    "You say I don''t know how to dress. I wore pretty dresses twice, and both times you scolded me for wearing something too revealing, for not having the dignity of Mrs. Griffith. On top of that, I was taking care of you during those two years and busy studying for my master''s degree, so yes, my wardrobe was a bit neglected."

    trusting her unconditionally, and always taking her side."
