Natalie was washing the dishes. When she heard his voice, she turned around in surprise.
For a moment, Sebastian was struck by how innocent and pure she looked. The casual, fortable style suited her perfectly.
He realized then that she was only twenty-three, at an age where she should have been carefree, spending her best years with friends at school. Instead, she had been by his side, taking care of him, while he had done nothing but hurt her.
Guilt flooded his eyes. Seeing her questioning gaze, it seemed she hadn''t heard
what he''d said. He gave a slight smile, picked up his coat, and left.
Natalie watched him go and pouted in frustration. She was sure she''d heard him say something.
But she hadn''t caught what it was.
Natalie rubbed her nose and went back to washing the dishes.
After she finished, she went upstairs to change before heading out to pick up Marshall.
The traffic was terrible today. An hourter, she arrived outside Marshall''s vi.
She and Marshall were the same age, and they shared many interests and always had plenty to talk about.
Just as she was thinking this, she saw Marshalle out.
He was wearing a ck winter baseball jacket, a cream-colored scarf, sses, and
a mask, and he ran toward her against the cold wind.
"Natalie, I''m here!" he said happily as he pulled open the car door and got in.
The warmth inside the car enveloped him instantly.
Marshall unwound his scarf, his neck finally feelingfortable as he could breathe easily again.
He grumbled, "Natalie, I hate winter. The wind is so sharp it makes my face sting."
He was reminded of his own death in the freezing cold of winter, and his mood soured.
Natalie didn''t like winter either, but what could you do? There were four seasons a year, and even winter had its own unique beauty.
"Alright, let''s go."
Natalie drove away.
Behind her, Sebastian''s car was parked. Seeing her drive off, he ordered Sean, his voice deep and cold, "Follow them."
Sean sighed in resignation. They had
a very important meeting this
morning, which the CEO was now attending from the car, and now they had to follow Natalie. It was ironts Before he couldn''t wait for Natalie to stay away from him, and now he was stuck to her like glue.
Sean started the car and followed Natalie and Marshall to the brokerage firm. He watched them buy the stocks and then leave happily.
Sebastian noted the stock Natalie had purchased and handed a card to Sean. "Go buy one billion dors'' worth."
"What?" Sean was stunned. "Sir, isn''t that a bit impulsive? This stock is dropping. Why would we buy it?"
One billion dors wasn''t like ten thousand.
Sebastian''s voice was firm. "Just do as I say."
Sean didn''t know what to say.
He silently went to make the trade Even hourster, when he got back in the car, his heart was still pounding. He had no idea what had gotten into Sebastian today.
And why was Natalie suddenly buying stocks?
"Sir, shall we head to the office now?"
Sebastian stared out the window. Marshall had bought Natalie a sweet
potato, and they were sharing i
each holding a half. Natalie was
eating with obvious delight.
Marshall even reached out to adjust the scarf around her neck and then broke off a piece of his sweet potato to feed her.
Natalie smiled and opened her mouth to ept it. Every one of their movements looked like those of a loving couple.
Sebastian''s gaze was dark and murderous. He and Natalie had never shared a moment of romance like that.
