Chapter 663

Hearing the doubt in his voice, a murderous glint shed in Joanna''s eyes. "Robert, what''s with that tone? I said I''m pregnant. With your child."

"Impossible. I always use protection. How could you be pregnant with my child?"

"But you''re the only man I''ve been with these past few months. The child is yours."

"Don''t you remember that first time? You were in a hurry, and we didn''t use protection."

Joanna needed to know how Robert would react.

If he denied it, she had plenty of ways to deal with him.

After thinking it over, she realized framing Natalie was unrealistic. If she pushed Natalie too far, all the things she had done in the past woulde to light.

Monica might have fled, but Susan White still had evidence of her conspiring with Monica against Jared.

Robert was tense. "Joanna, our careers are taking off right now. If it suddenlyes out that you''re pregnant with my child, we''ll both be ruined. Besides, we still have a month of filming left for this show."

"Can''t we... get rid of it?"

Robert was always careful. He had slept with nearly all of his co-stars but had never slipped up before. This was the first time. He remembered now—that night, he couldn''t wait. They''d done it twice in the bathroom and twice by the window without any protection. He''d had a bit to drink and was just looking for a thrill, pletely forgetting about contraception.

Joanna''s hand tightened on her phone. She closed her eyes in anguish. Why could she never find a man who genuinely cared for her?

Sebastian used to be genuine. If only she hadn''t abandoned him when he went blind after the car crash. If she had stayed by his side, he would still be devoted to her now.

The thought filled Joanna with regret.

"We need to sit down and talk about this tomorrow. It''s true that I''m carrying your child. If you don''t believe me, I''ll have the baby and get a paternity test."

Robert quickly agreed. "Okay. I''ll contact you at noon tomorrow. We have a shoot then, so we can find a quiet ce to talk."

    "Alright."

After hanging up, Joanna immediately received a call from Horace.

"Hello? Horace, what did you find?"

"Robert is the illegitimate son of Calvin Warner, from the wealthiest family in Northwood," Horace reported. "But his mother married into the Warner family this year, so he''s legitimate now. His family very influential, on par with

Sébastian''s. His father put him in the entertainment industry as a form of training. They''re incredibly rich."

A triumphant gleam appeared in Joanna''s eyes. She was d she''d had Horace dig into Robert''s background.

"Horace, are you sure your information is correct? We can''t afford any mistakes." Robert''s origins were a mystery, even to the director.

For the past two years, he''d been wildly sessful in showbiz.

"I''m sure," Horace exined. "I followed him all day and even discreetly asked his assistant. The assistant has seen Robert with his father Calvin Warner at the

Joanna was still cautious. "Okay, Horace. Just to be safe, please verify it again."

"Alright," Horace said. "But are you really going to do this? Are you giving up on the young master?"

"He gave up on me," Joanna sneered. "If he truly loved me, he wouldn''t have asked me to seduce Robert."

Wait. A thought struck Joanna. Could he have known about Robert''s identity all along?

But it had been so many years. It was time for her to wake up from that dream. That man only wanted to reim his position; he didn''t have her in his heart. She had to n for her own future Marrying into wealthy family was her ultimate goal.

She had already helped her mother achieve her dream of bing the real Mrs.

    Scott.

She hadpletely gotten rid of Wendy.

Her rtionship with that man was purely a partnership.
