Chapter 642

He was right back where he started. His smallpany barely cleared fifty thousand a year, not even enough for a single g event.

Now, he felt pathetic, each night a living hell.

The thought filled him with rage.

He roared in frustration, "Wendy, this is all your fault! Your mismanagement ruined thepany and lost everything! I''m an old man. Am I supposed to suffer with you?"

"We''re in this mess because of you. If you were still as rich as you used to be, why would I have ever left you?"

"Heh..." Wendy let out a bitterugh at his shamelessness.

Honestly, her love for him had blinded her. She''d always let his minor transgressions slide, and in doing so, she''d overlooked the bigger problems-she''d overlooked Nathan''s greed.

Her cold gaze bored into him. "So, from the very beginning, you were only after my money."

"You put on that whole act of being so proud, refusing to be seen as living off my family''s wealth. My parents would say one harsh word and your precious ego would be wounded. And for the sake of your damned pride, I left my parents to build a life with you. I did all of that for you, and you were lying to me from the start, weren''t you?"

She screamed, her heart aching. When she had gone to see her parents recently to tell them about the divorce and the n to let thepany go bankrupt, they hadn''t questioned her. They had supported herpletely.

She remembered her father saying, "Wendy, it''s not toote to see the truth. Our family has more than enough money tost you two lifetimes, even if you never work another day. You''ve been tired for so long. From now on, just live your life. Your mother and I will retire back home. Once you''ve settled things here,e back and spend some time with us."

Her parents were always her strongest support.

That''s what gave her the confidence to orchestrate everything.

The loans she took out were real, arranged by her father.

She hadn''t used the money. When the due dates came, she would return it all, untouched.

But the charade had to be perfect to convince Joanna and Nathan that she was truly broke.

And it had worked. Joanna had even sent people to investigate before she was fully convinced.

Seeing Wendy''s pain, Nathan forced a bitter smile. "Wendy, at this point, you can think whatever you want."

He grabbed Sophia''s hand and walked away.

Wendy stood in the swirling snow, the wind whipping her hair around her face as she watched them leave.

She smiled. Nathan couldn''t stand being cheated on. How could he possibly tolerate Sophia''s betrayal?

They thought they could have their happy family of four? In their dreams.

She, Wendy, would be the first to burn it all down.

Those two wouldn''t even be able to stomach lunch today. They would go home and have a massive fight.

As their car pulled away, Wendy got into her own and followed. She wasn''t about to miss the show.

    Luna saw everything unfold. She

"Hello? Luna." Natalie answered, her voice listless.

Luna''s voice was buzzing with excitement. "I think we''re in for a good show. I know you''re in a bad mood because of the Scott''s but i''m about to film something thatcheer you right up."

Natalie managed a smallugh. "You little gossip. Shouldn''t you be
