Joanna watched Wendy, amused by her uselessness. "Mom, you must not have treated my brothers very well for them to not want to go with you. If Colin doesn''t want to go, then the others won''t either."
"And as for Jared, even though he''s missing and presumed dead, there''s no body. That can only mean one thing—he''s off chasing Monica again. He''s hopelessly in love with her."
Jared had been lost at sea; there was no way he wasing back.
As for the other two brothers, she could easily frame them for a crime and get them locked up in prison.
Wendy pushed Colin''s hand away and, without another word, went upstairs to rest. She was exhausted. Once the divorce was final, her most brutal revenge would begin.
Seeing that Wendy wasn''t making a scene, Nathan rxed.
He wasn''t worried. Over the years, he had stashed away a lot of money and even bought two vis. As long as hispany survived, he could continue to live a life of luxury.
Nathan looked at Colin. What''s wrong with him, wanting to stick with him?
Was he trying to take over hispany?
No, he couldn''t let this boy stay with him.
"Colin, you and your brothers are adults now. You can go with whoever you want. But if you stay with me, you will not be recognized as my son in the eyes of the world."
His new family needed to be spotless. He couldn''t have Wendy''s son on the record; Sophia would be upset.
Tears glistened in Colin''s eyes as he said quietly, “Fine, Mr. Scott. I understand what you mean. In that case, before the divorce, let''s sign an agreement. Since you don''t want me, when you get old, my brothers and I will have no obligation to support you. If you don''t sign this, then I want ten percent of yourpany''s shares."
Nathan was shocked. The kid really was after hispany.
He was cornered now; thepany was his only source of ie.
"Fine! I''ll write up the agreement right now. I don''t need you to take care of me when I''m old."
There was a printer in the house, and Nathan quickly drew up an agreement to sever all ties, handing it to Colin to sign.
Colin looked at the document, a bitter feeling rising in his throat. Natalie had seen these people for who they really were, which was why she had signed a simr agreement and left without a second thought.
Once this was signed, their lives and deaths would have nothing to do with him and his brothers.
He feigned reluctance, looking at him. “Dad, are you sure about this? If I sign this, you won''t be my father anymore."
Nathan scowled. “Just sign it. I disowned your sister Natalie, what makes you think I want four useless sons?"
Colin gave a bitter smile. "Fine. If you don''t want me, I still have Joanna."
"Joanna is my dearest sister. We can rely on each other."
Colin smiled at Joanna.
Joanna smiled back. "If you''d like, you can continue to be my driver After all with a degree from a
third rate university, finding a job tough. A career as a driver suits you well."
"Yes, being a driver does suit me. I''d be happy to be your driver. No matter what anyone else says, you''re the only sister I recognize, The bond we have from growing up together can''t be broken by others."
Joanna saw the tears in his eyes and knew he was desperate. She just smiled
without saying a word and went to her room.
A servant filmed the entire exchange and sent it to Natalie.
Natalie watched it without much reaction.
Colin really was Joanna''s loyalpdog. As long as he didn''t bother her, she didn''t
care.
With Wendy''s capabilities, she was more than able to ensure Nathan would be left with nothing.
