Susan was at a loss for words.


    She looked at Jared on the hospital bed and thought what a failure he was. He''d spent a year chasing after Monica like a lovesick puppy, demeaning himself and breaking his own mother''s heart.


    Susan replied, "Okay."


    After hanging up, Susan ryed Wendy''s message to Natalie.


    Natalie was also surprised. Had Wendy really given up on her son?


    “Natalie, what do we do? I have to work tomorrow," Susan said, really wanting nothing more to do with Jared.


    Natalie remembered that Joanna was also on the ind. If she found out Jared was still alive, she would definitely try to kill him and frame her for it. It was too good an opportunity for her to pass up.


    Joanna''s ambitions were graduallying to light, and Jared couldn''t stand in the way of her investigation into the truth.


    She didn''t want to save Jared, but she hated trouble even more, and she had a lot on her te.


    With his amnesia, Jared would likely be manipted by Joanna and used against her again.


    "I''ll have him moved. If Joanna finds out he''s alive, she''ll probably try to frame us for what happened today. Besides, when I went back to the hotel to change, I saw Sebastian and Joanna."

    Susan shivered. Just the mention of that woman made her anxious.


    The woman''s wickedness was insidious.


    “Okay, okay, Natalie, I''ll do whatever you say. I''m truly terrified of Joanna''s schemes. When I think about what happened to me before, it''s just horrifying."


    Having learned her lesson the hard way, Susan had not only grown wiser but had maturedpletely. If you can''t beat them, avoid them. There was no shame in it.


    There was certainly no shame in trying to live a healthy, peaceful life.


    Natalie knew Susan was afraid of being framed by Joanna, so she arranged for a few people to transfer Jared to a hospital under her name.


    By the time Jared was gone, it was already dark. Natalie and Susan went to the beach for dinner.


    Without the burden of Jared, Susan was much more rxed.


    Susan had been here for a while and was familiar with the ind''s restaurants.


    She took Natalie to one of her favorite spots, but as they reached the entrance, they ran into Joanna and her entourage.


    Susan scowled. What bad luck. Why did they have to run into her everywhere?


    Joanna saw them and knew Jared was in the hospital. She had tried calling Monica, but the line was dead. The woman had taken the money and run.

    It was all because of these two women that her n had failed.


    Tonight, she was treating the film crew to dinner. She was skilled at building rtionships, using small gifts, dinner invitations, and thoughtful gestures to maintain a good rapport with everyone.


    She smiled brightly at the two of them. “Natalie, Susan, what are you two doing here?"


    Her voice was intentionally surprised, with a hint of fear.


    The movie''s male lead, the famous actor Robert Warner, saw her nervous expression and frowned slightly.


    “Joanna, it looks like these two are trying to frame you again. You should be careful."
