Yeri said, "Mrs. Scott, we''ve traced the money that was transferred out. Ms. Scott was the one who moved it, but we don''t know where it went."
Wendy''s eyes snapped open. "Did Leona help her?"
Yeri nodded slightly. "Yes. It was the transfer of those funds that put ourpany in such a difficult position."
Wendy took a deep breath. It was a good thing she had taken precautions; otherwise, thepany would have been lost.
There were too many of Joanna''s people in thepany. For now, the only option was to empty out thepany''s assets.
"Let''s go. Keep this quiet. For now, don''t alert Leona. Just find the evidence to put her away."
Yeri nodded. "Understood."
The next day.
On a remote ind.
The calm sea was like a giant mirror, stretching out between heaven and earth, reflecting the azure sky and white clouds.
The wavespped gently at the shore, and the sunlight danced on the water, sparkling and mesmerizing. It felt as if all worries had vanished.
The sea breeze was still a bit cool. Natalie tested the water temperature. It was fine.
She had driven the speedboat for an hour to get here to fish.
She put on her gear and her goggles, which had a built-in camera to record everything she caught.
She looked at Susan on the shore and pointed to the fishing rod. “Susan, the water is calm today. Try casting a few times. You might get a surprise."
Susan was delighted. "Okay, okay!"
She pointed to arge cooler on the speedboat. "Natalie, tomorrow''s feast is all up to you! See that big cooler? We have toe back with it full."
Natalie smiled. "There are plenty of fish down there, but I''m just going to catch what I like to eat. I''m heading in. You wait up here. The visibility is great. I can already see cuttlefish and octopus."
"I love octopus! Don''t let them get away if you see any," Susan called from the shore. The water was a little chilly, so she backed away.
“Got it.” Natalie slipped into the water. It was so clear that Susan could still see her.
Susan took out her phone and
snapped a few pictures. Natalie looked just like a mermaid. She was
So envious, but she didn''t know how
to swim.
Natalie was amazing at catching fish with her bare hands. She took a bag with
her and, after swimming a few meters, spotted a bailer shell.
Natalie was thrilled. She picked it up and put it in her bag.
Her main goal today was to catch a tuna for sashimi.
Unfortunately, she was unlikely to find one here. Catching a fish like that was difficult.
But this diving area was full of parrotfish.
Natalie moved silently, sneaking up and catching two of them.
ét
After gathering a couple of ms, she noticed the coral reef nearby was particrly beautiful. This kind of terrain was often home to lobsters.
She surfaced for air and brought her catch back to the speedboat.
She saw that Susan had hooked a small fish and was struggling to reel it in. Natalie smiled, ced her haul in the cooler, and dove back into the water.
Not far away, on another boat.
Jared stared intently at Monica and her lover.
"Monica, just give me my money back, and I''ll let you go.". Jared had been chasing them since he left the wedding venue, all the way out to sea.
BUMS
He had seen Monica and the man escaping on a boat and had quietly boarded it himself.
Seeing the two of them about to do disgusting things right there on the boat, he was so enraged that he had revealed himself.
He had been hiding for a day and a night. He had pursued this woman for a whole year, only to be deceived by her.
How could he not be furious?
After leaving the wedding, he had beenpletely lost.
He stood there until nightfall, long after everyone else had gone, before the
absurdity of the day''s events finally sank in.
