Natalie looked at Marshall, about to speak, but he was already running off.
"Natalie, I think your grandpa is right! I''lle find you tomorrow, and we''ll go on a date. I have something important to do tonight, so I''m heading out. Be safe on your way back!"
He grinned and dashed away, his cheerful mood evident even from his retreating back.
Natalie shook her head. It seemed Marshall had misunderstood.
Grandpa always managed to create misunderstandings.
She sighed in resignation, not noticing the dark figure approaching from behind.
After hanging up and putting her phone back in her bag, she looked up, her gaze instantly hardening. She smelled a familiar, cold fragrance.
After two years of living together, she knew that scent all too well.
She whipped around to face Sebastian''s dark, smoldering eyes. His expression was so ferocious it looked like he wanted to tear her to pieces.
Natalie took a fearful step back. She had seen this Sebastian in her past life, right before he was about to kill someone.
She swallowed hard. He wasn''t nning on killing her, was he?
"You... how are you..."
Before Natalie could finish, her hand was seized in Sebastian''s iron grip.
Her eyes widened, and she struggled, but she couldn''t break free.
His hand was scorching hot, the heat spreading through her body and making her heart tremble.
Sebastian stared at her, his eyes zing with anger. "Come back with me."
His words were concise, with no room for argument.
Natalie shot him a cold look. "Sebastian, you want me to go back with you? Aren''t you afraid Joanna will get jealous?"
"Her jealousy has nothing to do with me." He had been good to Joanna because she had saved him from a fire but now he knew the truth. The one who had saved him was Natalie, not her. Joanna had used up all the goodwill and gratitude he had for her.
Natalie was shocked, the sense of injustice welling up inside her. "How does it have nothing to do with you? You unconditionally believed her and the Scott family as they bullied mel You think that has nothing to do with you?"
Sebastian didn''t deny it. He didn''t love Natalie; he only felt gratitude. He didn''t know
how to love. No one had ever taught him what love was.
But after living with her for two years, he had failed to understand his own heart.
"You were having a hard time back then. I saw it with my own eyes every time," he said, his deep eyes filled with regret.
"Mypany was incredibly busy at the time. You know I had just taken over the Griffith Group, and things were a mess internally. There was so much to do at the office every day..."
"Stop it, Sebastian. That''s no excuse for how you treated me," Natalie cut him off coldly, her voice growing heavier.
Sebastian just looked at her without speaking.
Natalie nced at her captured wrist. It was painful, and hot. She hated this kind of contact. "Sebastian, I''ll say it one more time. Let me go."
"And I''ve told you, you''reing back with me. You are still my wife. I will not allow you to be with other men and cuckold me. I, Sebastian Griffith, will not be disgraced like that."
Sebastian dragged her toward the car.
As capable as Natalie was, the difference in strength between a man and a woman was too great.
She was no match for him at all.
She could only stumble along as he pulled her to the car.
He opened the door and practically lifted her inside. She had no strength to fight back; Sebastian''s power was terrifying.
Coming downstairs, Joanna witnessed the entire scene of Sebastian dragging Natalie into the car and driving away.
Her eyes filled with hatred. Sebastian, why don''t you love me anymore?
She had created so many opportunities, so many chance encounters, constantly testing his limits. In this moment, she suddenly felt she had gone too far, yed her part too convincingly, andnow Sebastian would never trust her again.
