Chapter 209

Natalie almostughed. She hadn''t expected them to use a chemical agent. She was drugged too, her body feeling heavy and unresponsive. There was no way she could run. "Marshall, you can''t even stand. What makes you think I can run?"

A wry smile touched his lips. "Well, Natalie, at least we''ll havepany on the road to hell."

Natalie was speechless. Who wanted hispany? She couldn''t die yet.

"Dying hurts, Marshall. Thest time, you died horribly. They cut off your hands and feet," she said, her expression full of pity.

A chill ran down his spine. For a moment, he felt as if she were speaking the absolute truth. Seeing his reluctance, a hint of mncholy shadowed his roguish features. “Aren''t you willing toe with me, Natalie? A handsome face like mine is one of a kind, you know."

She shot him a sideways nce. "Sorry, I''d rather live." She hadn''t gotten her revenge yet. She couldn''t die now.

Marshall''s lips curled into a wild, seductive smirk. "Heh..."

"Heh'' my ass!" one of the men barked. "You''re both about to die and you''re still flirting? You lot, drag them downstairs. We''re going out the back. Get them in the car and head straight for the mountains." He then leered at Natalie. "As for thisdy, the boss wants her to be... taken care of. Find some strong guys for her."

Marshall scowled. The man''s crudeness was ruining his suave demeanor. His dark eyes, shedding their usual yfulness, shot a cold re at the man. Natalie''s own eyes glinted with icy fury. The same old trick, but still the most brutal one to use against a woman.

The two were dragged away unceremoniously. Marshall, however, seemed strangely calm, a careless smile on his devilishly handsome face. He looked over at the silent Natalie. "Natalie, you think this shared ordeal will blossom into true love?"

Natalie gave a strainedugh. "Where do you get these romantic notions?" "Aren''t we being romantic right now?"

"Get in! Romantic? You two can be romantic on the road to hell!" A man shoved Marshall roughly into the van. Powerless, his tall frame copsed onto the seat. Natalie was thrown in after him, nding on top of him.

The faint, sweet scent of her perfume filled Marshall''s senses, and his gaze intensified. He stared at her beautiful face, noting the deep disgust in her eyes as she red at the man who had pushed her Then, her expression shifted back to one of fierce defiance.

The men climbed into the van, not bothering to adjust Natalie and Marshall''s awkward position. Drained of strength, they remained as they had fallen, Natalie half lying in Marshall''s arms. His hand rested on her waist, a weak attempt to steady her. Her subtle fragrance was intoxicating, making his thoughts spin.

As the van sped away, Luna''s car pulled out from a side street and began to follow. Just as she elerated, the passenger door flew open, and Sebastian and Sean jumped inside.

    "Drive," Sebastianmanded.

Luna''s expression was cold as ice. "Get out. You''re thest person she wants to see."

Sean started to exin, but Sebastian cut him off. "I said drive. Follow that van, now." His voice was sharp, edged with an authority that brooked no argument.

Luna, realizing there was no time to argue, pressed the elerator and pursued the van. She had retrieved the car from the branch office as quicklyas she could Her driving was steady, maintaining a careful distance. She had already called the police and was now sharing her live location with them.

Sean watched Luna drive. She was slender and beautiful, but exuded an unapproachable coldness. He wondered what it would take to warm a girl like her.
