Chapter 139

After three days on the ind, Natalie and her friends returned home. She took one more day to rest before heading back to the office. She had sketched numerous designs during her trip and now needed to review fabric samples. She had asked her assistant, Luna, to prepare them that morning. After she was done, she nned to meet Queena at a spa. The days at the beach had left her a bit tanned.

As she got out of her car in front of the office building, her elegant figure stood out in the morning light.

    "Natalie."

The familiar voice made her want to punch someone. She turned to see Jerome, dressed in a baseball uniform and cap, ring at her with cold eyes.

"Mr. Scott. Can I help you?" Natalie''s tone was dismissive.

"What did you do to Joanna? She''s been upset for days. You''reing with me to apologize to her."

"She''s upset, and you''reing to me?" Natalie interrupted, incredulous.

"You''re going to go apologize to her. You''re the one who stole Sebastian, and that''s why she''s unhappy," Jerome insisted.

Natalie sighed and took a deep breath. How was she rted to such an idiot? This was too much for first thing in the morning.

    "Get lost," she snarled.

Jerome was stunned. "You''re telling me to get lost? You... you''re just a high school dropout. The only reason you''re the design director here is because you seduced Mr. Jones with that pretty face of yours. After doing something so disgusting, how can you still cling to Sebastian?"

He looked at her with utter contempt.

Natalie let out a bitterugh. "You should be telling Sebastian to get a divorce. He''s the one refusing to sign the final papers. And for the record, Keith is not you."

Jerome didn''t understand. "What''s that supposed to mean?"

"It means that Keith, despite his

youth, is exceptionally talented. He''s a rising star: The sess he''s achieved wasn''t built by seducing women. Besides, you only have eyes for Joanna. You''ve never taken the time to know what kind of person I am seed it''s because I. seduced a man? I''m capable, it''s because I used underhanded tactics?"

"Jerome, do you want to know what''s truly disgusting? You are. You''re not just an idiot; you''re a scumbag. Think back to what happened six months ago. Who was the one who really set you up?"

You only have a few more days to act so smug, Jerome. Thepetition is in two weeks. You''re headed for ruin. I wonder if you''ll die of anger when you finally learn the truth.

Natalie turned her back on the fool and walked away.

Jerome watched her go. She dared

to bring up what happened six months ago. He looked at thepany buil ilding He would get his revenge for what happened fast time. He would make Natalie suffer the same betrayal from a loved one that he had. He had loved Yvonne so much, only to be taken advantage of by that woman.

Jerome took out his phone and made a call.

    "Jerome," a slick voice answered.

Jerome sneered. "Tonight, I need you to teach someone a lesson for me. Her

name is Natalie. I''ll send you her office address. Don''t kill her, just rough her up a bit."

    "Done," the man agreed readily.

After hanging up, Jerome called Joanna.

"Jerome," Joanna''s voice was weak and listless. It made his heart ache.

"Joanna, Natalie refuses toe apologize to you. But don''t worry, I''ve arranged for someone to teach her a lesson. She won''t have a job soon and she have no choice but to look up to you the memory of what happened six months ago filled Jerome with hatred.

"Don''t do that," Joanna said, her voice filled with rm. "It''s fine if Natalie doesn''t apologize. I know you''ve been in a bad moodtely, but you have apetitioning up. You can''t do anything illegal."
