Natalie marveled at the strange twists of fate that made her run into Joanna every single day.
"Who this is, Joanna, is none of your business," Natalie said coolly. "I''ve already left the Scott family. I''m not fighting you for anything anymore, so you''d be wise to keep your mouth shut and stop provoking me."
"Sebastian might protect you once or twice, but what about eight or ten times? Do you think he''ll still stand by you when your vicious, ugly true colors areid bare for him to see?"
Last night, all she had to do was post on Facebook that she was back at her ex- husband''s ce,plete with a photo of her cooking in the kitchen. And just like that, Joanna hade running. Natalie knew that Joanna''s greatest fear right now was that she would go back to Sebastian. His attitude toward Natalie was already changing, and Joanna could sense the threat.
Seeing her post, especially since her Facebook was set to be visible only to Joanna, was guaranteed to make her rush over.
Joanna was momentarily speechless. Thinking Natalie couldn''t possibly know what happened after she leftst night, she boasted smugly, "After you left yesterday, I stayed and kept Sebastianpany. He was so gentle... I''m still sore
today."
Natalie knew exactly what that implied. A sharp pain stabbed her heart. She thought she was past the point of being hurt by such words, but the ache came without warning.
She forced a cold smile. "Wow, so desperate to be the other woman you have to announce it in public. I guess there''s no one quite like you, Joanna."
"Natalie, you—!" Joanna stomped her foot in frustration, unable toe up with a retort. Technically, Sebastian and Natalie weren''t officially divorced yet. But she had already found a way to make sure that happened.
Yvonne stepped forward, her expression arrogant and her features sharp with aggression. She sneered, "Natalie, the one who isn''t loved is the third wheel. You stole everything that rightfully belonged to Joanna."
"Thank God you signed the papers disowning yourself from the family. I wouldn''t want someone like you as a rtive. It would be humiliating."
This country bumpkin, Natalie. Though, looking at her today, she didn''t look like a bumpkin at all. Her outfit was more elegant than what you''d see on most high- societydies.
Natalie thought Yvonne must be delusional. Where did she get the confidence to assume Natalie wanted to be her family? It wasn''t even certain Yvonne would ever marry into the Scott family.
"Yvonne, who said I wanted to be your family? You haven''t even married into the Scott family yet. You can talk once you''re in. And even if you do, I''ll never be your sister-inw. Don''t tter yourself."
That fool Jerome. Not only was he stupid, but he was also being yed by his own fiancée and didn''t even know it. In the end, he''d be the cuckold, raising another man''s child. Course Natalie wouldn''t tell him
that. He wouldn''t believe her anyway. In her past life, she had tried, only to be humiliated by them all. This time, she wouldn''t bother with their fates.
"Good. I''d hate to have you as family, dragging down my reputation. After all, you''re just a country girl who
never even finished high school et
Yvonne was determined not to be associated with her. She and Joanna were best friends, and they both looked down on Natalie.
"And I get that you''re upset about being kicked out," Yvonne added condescendingly. “But sympathy is the cheapest thing in this world. You, with nothing to your name, are truly pathetic."
"Pfft..." Keith burst outughing. "Where did this idiote from? How could she possibly think you have nothing? Look at her, dressed ke shes on a budget How dare stre say that about you? Her whate outfit is worth less than a thousand dors, while yours is easily over a hundred thousand."
