Sebastian knew how to boil noodles. When they were done, he poured them,
along with the water, into a bowl and found the sugar, adding two spoonfuls. He carried the bowl to the dining table and began to eat. The taste was slightly sweet, and it was okay.
But it was nothing like the food Natalie used to make.
In the past, when he came homete after a business dinner where he hadn''t eaten much, there would always be a deliciouste-night snack waiting for him.
After finishing the noodles, his stomach felt better.
He went upstairs to his bedroom. He and Natalie had never shared a room. He slept in the master bedroom, and she in the one next door. They had been married for two years without ever consummating the rtionship. On the day they got their marriage license, he had made his position clear, and Natalie had never pushed him.
But the woman was talkative, always chattering away in his presence. Now that she was gone, the silence in the vi was deafening, as if the world had gone mute.
Sebastian''s mind drifted back to the innocent young woman he had first met, her smile just right, so warm.
“Sebastian, from today on, I''m your wife. I''m going to love you with all my heart.” He had looked at her and said, "I will wait for Joanna toe back."
That one sentence had wiped the smile from her face. After that day, he couldn''t remember ever seeing that warm smile again.
Sebastian stood at the door for a moment before pushing open the door to the room Natalie used to upy.
The room was neat, the bed made
with a pink duvet cover. On her
vanity, there were still some
half used cosmetics
Nothing had
been touched since she left. After signing the divorce papers, she had nevere back.
Sebastian sat on the bed she had slept in. Months had passed, and her scent was long gone. All that remained were traces of her life.
The thought that Natalie was the one who had cured his blindness filled him with aplex mix of emotions.
He stood up and walked slowly out of her room. As he reached the doorway, his phone rang. It was his good friend, Julian Cooper.
"Hello," he answered, his voice low. He stood in the hallway, his tall figure casting an imposing shadow.
"Sebastian, I''m back in the country. Let''s get together. Matthew Monroe is here too. You''ve probably met him he just got back as well good chance for everyone to get acquainted."
Sebastian''s eyes narrowed at the mention of Matthew''s name, but he agreed. "Send me the address."
After hanging up, he received the location. He called Sean toe pick him up, then went back to his room to change into some casual clothes before heading to the bar.
Forty minutester, he arrived at a private room in a high-end club. It was a luxurious, secluded space, elegantly designed with unique. personal touches that offered an exclusive experience. Severabother wealthy heirs from vare wêre already there. They all stood up respectfully to greet Sebastian when he walked in.
Julian was strikingly handsome, tall with sharp, refined features that gave him a devilish charm, a stark contrast to Sebastian''s cold, reserved nature.
Matthew, however, was more like Sebastian-calm andposed, but with a wild streak that made him hard to read. He sat to one side and gave Sebastian a nod before looking back down at his phone.
Julian had met Matthew a few times for dinner abroad. Seeing him glued to his phone, Julian teased, "Mr. Monroe, judging by that smile, I''d say you''ve got a girlfriend."
